About this listen

A second-chance, small town romance from NYT and USA Today bestselling author A.L. Jackson

My daddy warned me never to fall for a boy like Jace Jacobs . . .

The second I saw him walk through the door, I knew he was trouble.

A gorgeous rebel with a bad attitude and a huge chip on his shoulder.

My heart warned me. I didn’t listen.

I fell hard and fast.

He promised we’d be together forever, and then left me with a broken heart.

Now, ten years later, Jace Jacobs is standing at my door.

Sexier than he’s ever been.

Provocative and commanding.

Successful and powerful.

The man I always knew he would become.

But I promised myself I’d never lose my heart to him again.

Even time couldn’t dim our chemistry. One glance of his intense eyes, and I become weak. One brush of his hand, and he brings me to my knees.

Little do I know, Jace holds the key to everything I’ve lost and everything that threatens my future.

Now he will either save me, or he will break me all over again . . .

This deserves ten stars!

The three boys moved into this small town outside of Charlotte, Jace, Liam and Joseph. But it's Jace's eyes that steal Faith's breath. Cooper and gold with brown flecks, that hold such strength and angst.
Accused the first day of stealing a sandwich at the new high school, where he's being dragged to the principal's office., Jace denies the deed. Given a second chance, Jace flees the office with Faith on his heals.
There Faith sees Jace give the sandwich to Joseph, who scarfs the thing down.
When Jace catches Faith, she's accused of spying and is told to keep away.
Everyone in town's gossiping about the new teen boys and saying they're bad and to keep away from them.
Jace's mother is heavily into street drugs, and she has moved the boys into an abandoned trailer at the end of town.
She's also indiscriminate of whom she sleeps with.
This includes a man named Steven, who happens to be a huge drug dealer.

Walking down the old dirt road heading home, Faith loves this old plantation style home that's been abandoned.. it's Faith's dream to own and live there.
Jace comes up behind Faith, shocking her, asking what she's doing there, then he lifts her up on his back and runs down the moss covered oak tree drive... where he kisses Faith.
They have their daily rendezvous... and where they start to fall in love.

Jace comes home from working at the grocery store, to find Steven giving Liam and Joseph instructions on how to start delivering his drugs to the town. Blowing up, Jace orders Steven out and to never come back. When he comes back the next day, he finds Liam beaten up, by Steven, for not agreeing to listen to him and distribute his drugs. Jace finds out where Steven lives and beats him up, threatening to kill him if he doesn't leave his family alone. Jace is arrested for assault.

As Joseph develops his own love for Faith, he starts to grow a severe animosity towards Jace.
Joseph wasn't lucky enough to escape Steven's clutches.

During one of Jace and Faith's meetings, Jace is arrested.
The next day Jace breaks up with Faith. Sobbing uncontrollably, Faith begs Jace not to leave her.
Walking away is the hardest thing Jace ever had to do.
What happens next, will keep you listening, not wanting to set your tablet down.
All I can say is it involves Faith, Joseph, Jace and a chocolate eyed little girl with curly brown hair... just like her mom's
And who's trying to kill them.

More of my heart

This story gutted me! I love AL Jackson and she always delivers an amazing story with amazing narrators, however this one had a bit too much repetitive inner monologue… I think it would be perfect if some of that was cut out to make the story a little shorter. With that being said I still loved it so much! my heart broke into pieces for Jace and Faith… so many wasted years it makes me sad.
Most definitely worth the credit! <3

Great second chance

Jace was the “bad boy” in high school because he had to be taking care of his brother and cousin but Faith saw beneath tha hard edges to the good in him. When he had to leave her, he left a whole in both of their hearts. Jace is now back because Faith is in danger and he is determined to keep her safe and has no intention on being with Faith...but soulmates are hard to resist. This is an angst filled story with suspense. It grips you from the start and doesn’t let go till the very end.

Love!

A.L. Jackson did what she does best!! She’s wrote a beautiful story that tugged at my heartstrings like no other! It’s such a beautifully emotional story of love, loss, and redemption.

Here’s what I loved:
The writing. Oh my god!! This author’s writing is my kryptonite. Her prose is SO beautiful. I CANT GET ENOUGH! It’s descriptive and so full of emotion. She completely blows me away...book after book.

The characters really AMAZING! Faith and Jace’s story is not all sunshine and daisies. It’s hard. They have endured so much. When we first meet Faith and her daughter, she’s experiencing such a hard time. I immediately fell for her. That almost never happens for me. What a treat!

The storyline. Holy wow! Mystery, intrigue, angst, and suspense. I flipped the pages so fast. I needed to know what happened! Such a great read.

So, if second chance romances with beautifully broken characters is your jam, you need to read this book. RIGHT NOW! Grab it! You will not be sorry.

Highly recommended

Very good but...

The narrators were excellent, as always. They brought the characters to life perfectly.
The story premise is good. Boy and girl fall in love young, are torn apart by external forces and circumstances beyond their control, they reunite with a big secret between them, the secret is revealed, etc. —->HEA. However, the H kept reiterating how he wasn’t good enough for the h and was going to let that keep them apart. A few times, ok...but over and over and over got to be a bit much for me.
Don’t get me wrong. This is a great book. AL Jackson doesn’t write anything that’s not really good. This one just wasn’t my fave.
Would I recommend it? Yes. Will I listen to it again? No.

Get out the tissues!

This was the epitome of a tragic love story. At certain times I had to remember that this story DOES indeed have a happy ending. The sacrifices…the deceit and betrayal…the naïveté of young love…*sigh*. I truly enjoyed this book!

Absolute best book I've listened to in a long time.

These are my favorite narrators to begin with but a wonderful performance once again! I laughed, cried and swooned. In the words of Nike, Just Do It!!

Second chance romance unpredictability @ it's best

“When I close my eyes, I see you. When I think of you, I see us together. When I look at you, I see where I belong. I see you.”

“More of You”, is a beautiful second chance love story with plenty of action to go with the feels. Jace and Faith knew each other as teenagers and they fell in love, but he left and she was heartbroken. She swore she’d never let him in again, but he’s back and all he wants to do is protect her, and slowly but surely he sneaks back into her life and her heart.

Normally I find flashbacks distracting, I struggle with the to and fro of them, but the ones in “More of You”, have purpose and help to build the backstory for these two.

As we have come to expect from Amy, she doesn’t hold back when it comes to putting her characters through the ringer. Event after event, and Faith is just so strung out she doesn’t know how to move forwards. Enter Jace, the impeccably dressed grown up boy from the wrong side of the tracks. He stops at nothing to ensure her safety, and of course there are twists and turns, a plenty. The plot evolves more and more, and the web of secrets gets harder and harder to navigate, until…...wait……...whaaaaaaaat?!!! Yep, she’s dropped another plot twist in there.

Narrated by Andi Arndt and Joe Arden. They do an impeccable job with bringing both Faith and Jace to life for us. Joe gives us the desperation Jace has, that Faith is holding her love back. Andi helps us feel the inner turmoil Faith is dealing with trying to reconcile her broken heart and all while giving us a range of side characters. A great small town, second chance romance audiobook, you’ll want to listen to nonstop.

Such a heart wrenching journey

I've been listening for one audiobook after the other for the past year, since I discovered audible. There have been great ones and many I've listened to several times, but this is the first audiobook that has ever made me cry. Jace is lut of this world. unbelievably strong and brave and kind and loving.
