Publisher's summary

Born in a slum in Egypt outside of Cairo, Muhammad only has a single memory of his father that he goes to in his mind to bring him comfort in the darkest moments like memorized quotes from the Quran that speak to the heart. He grew up Canadian as his mother became a refugee after Muhammad's father was kidnapped and never heard from again. Speaking both English and Arabic fluently, he navigates the streets of Toronto as a normal kid being raised by a single-parent, and he has an average childhood but above average academic performance. A devote Muslim, he turns to Allah not for radicalization but for peace and moves in with his local Imam's family after his mom returns to the Arab world. He achieves an academic scholarship to Canada's top university and meets his roommate, a Uyghur exchange student. After his first year of school, he travels as a representative for his colleague and local mosque to Mainland China with his new companion to recruit other young Muslims to immigrate and educate themselves in Canada, specifically nomads from China's step land, and in so doing, he ages decades beyond his years on Earth, learns of death and love, and unknowingly collects a horrible gift for the world!
