A Fun Listen!

It takes a zombie apocalypse to find out who your real friends are! Mia and Penny are unlikely BFFs, Mia's the theater kid with the army prepper father, and Penny's the cheerleader dating the captain of the football team. Together these lifelong friends face the horrors of the zombie apocalypse as it overruns their school.

I'm normally not a zombie or horror fan, but this book was great! It had none of the gore and violence and focused more on Mia and Penny's friendship, which I loved, it was portrayed so well. The author captured that friendship perfectly. It doesn't end on a cliffhanger, it wraps things up nicely while leaving room for more books later. I hope there's more, I'd definitely read another by this author!

The narration was well done, the point of view switches between Mia and Penny and the narrator was perfect for both. She deepens her voice just a touch for male voices, and immersed me in the story. I requested a copy of the audiobook, and I'm voluntarily leaving a review.

Amazing

Wow, this is a different take on zombies! The author did a great job and created a totally different take on zombies. I am amazed that it was so different. Very fast paced book. The narrator did a fantastic job. She was able to bring the characters to life. The only bad thing i have to say about this book is that it ended too soon. Great book to add to your library.

YA Zombie Apocalypse Short Story

A cute YA short story of 2 high school girl BFFs in the start of a zombie apocalypse. A different take on zombies which I always wondered about was finally used in a book. Does anything of the person remain when they turn into a zombie? Good plot and likeable characters.

I loved it!

I received a free copy of this audiobook for an honest review. What can I say? I feel like I haven't rated a story with five stars in a long time. This was a cute, entertaining, "wish it had been longer" short story.

I'm all for anything zombie related and was eager to give this story a listen to. I'm glad I did. The fact the main zombie was so different from your average brain-eating zombie was a nice twist, spin, different aspect, whatever you want to call. I liked it! Even though the group of teenagers consisted of the stereotypical kids (which the author calls out on), they were a great group. The two main female characters had a nice yin/yang type of relationship going on as well. Did I already say that I wished it would have been longer? I don't think I did. I was so sad when it got to the end.

The narrator did an awesome job! I feel like the last few audiobooks I've listened to that have had new narrators (people I've never listened to)...well, I've been having some good luck. They've all been doing a really good job. In this case, Ms. Hollowell provided a variety of voices to the characters, so it was easy to tell who was who and she seemed like she was "into" the story, and had a fun time narrating. Those are characteristics that I feel are required and look for when I listen to an audiobook.

I would definitely recommend this story to others.
