Love the series, narration is so so
I love this series but the narrator leaves something to be desired. Juan Claude and Asher are French. The narrator's accents for them sound southern and her accents for the other characters all sound the same. If she had been the initial narrator I would say she did an amazing job because I wouldn't have anyone else to compare her to but Kimberly Alexis brings the total package to these books.

Not my favorite but still good.
There’s a strong storyline and interesting characters. It’s starting to have longer dialogues about relationships and smutty scenes that aren’t very interesting. Still worth a listen if you can fast forward through the boring parts.

Book vs Narrative
The Narrator wasn't exactly narrating the same characters this round. Simple nuances in performance caused characters to 'feel' differently. Those who were strong yet quirky now seemed pessimistic and obnoxious. With the deviation from the original reads though there is a character who benefited from it in my opinion. Overall once you fall into again Kimberly gets ya there. Story seems to hit heavier on the smut side of things, I like an equal balance of ass kickery and sexuality.

Really good story
I love this story. I read it several times. This is the first time listening to the audio of it. The narrator was really good. She gave every character their own voice. It was not done like other books where they simply read the story she put heart into it. I have started the next book and this narrator is not the one doing the next few stories and the narrator is not nearly as good. I hate to say it but it is true. Kimberly Alexis has the voice for Anita Blake and she is damn good at her job.
