"Wah-hooey-woo!"

This is the 6th book in the CAKE series and one I've been waiting on for a long time! And the wait was worth it! Jill did it again with her amazing talents of writing to make the reader feel they are on the journey with the story.
This is the story of the youngest McKallister brother, Quinn. He has always looked up to his famous rock star older brother. Just as any competitive younger sibling may feel that everything comes so easily to the older sibling and that causes unseen issues sometimes. Quinn seems to like he is always fighting to make himself seen.
Jess is a perfect match for Quinn and easily fits into my idea of what a member of the McKallister family would need to be.
As usual the witty banter makes the reading impossible to put down. Then add these two amazing narrators, Andi Arndt and Zachary Webber, and the story takes on a life of its own!
Make sure to listen until the very end! There is a little authors note that provides some personal insight into Jill's writing and a bonus scene that just adds another layer to the tragedy that this family endures.
Always a no brainer for me to buy anything that Jill writes. It's the perfect escape for me and one i happily go back to many many times! Great job Jill!

This book is everything you want a book to be! Hits you in all the feels, can’t wait for Grace’s book.

What a rollercoaster!

This is book 7 in the Cake series and it is incredible! The story of Quinn McAlister and Jesse has all the twists and turns and surprises that I could possibly handle. Full of drama, romance, banter, steam, action, and all the feels you have come to expect from this series, Next in Line is a must read for fans of Cake and the McAlister family. Zachary Webber and Andi Arndt are rock stars in their own right and make this a five star listen and an automatic one click for audiobook lovers.

🎧♥️ "MY BEST AUDIOBOOK FOR 2021 SO FAR" 🎧♥️

Next in Line by Jill Bengtsson, read by Andi Arndt​ and Zachary Webber is my best book read for 2021 so far.
Finally, we hear Jess' story- the youngest of the McKallister brothers. I am sucked in from the very first page. Ms. Bengtsson, you are an outstanding writer. You showed us Jess' love-hate feelings towards his famous brother, Jake, and his turmoil for being neglected by his family since Jake's kidnapping that made him feel inadequate in his quest to surpass Jake's success until he meets an unconventional woman, Quinn, who changed his focus and feelings. This book can be read as a stand-alone, but best enjoyed if you have read the other Cake series booK. As for the narrators, they're the best! I listened with Whispersync in one sitting, and I didn't want it to end. I would give this book more than 5 stars if it were possible!!

Not what I was expecting ...

Again, Ms. Bengtsson does an incredible job demonstrating how trauma affects an entire family and their relationships. Loved how Quinn's encounter with Jess pushes him to be a better person, man, and brother. Ms. Bengtsson has a knack for writing strong female characters without making them into stereotypes.

Great Series. Next In Line is the best one yet.

To get the most out of it though, you need to read the series in order. It’ll be worth it.

J. Bengtsson does it again!

You just have to love J. Bengsstons, Cake Series! This series is one of my all time favorites on an audio book. If you haven't listen to the series please do yourself a favor and start listening. You will laugh ALOT and you will also cry ALOT. The author masterfully blends tragedy with comedic relief. The end result is a heart warming story of a family's strong bond and their perseverance. Did I mention the hilarious sarcastic banter?! Quinn's story is fantastic. Personally Kyle and then Emma's stories were my favorites but this one is just as good. I highly recommend not only this book but the entire series. Narrator's Zachary Webber and Andi Arndt are a fantastic duo.

I can’t wait till graces story comes out I love this series I can’t wait till more come
