So interesting!

From context clues they did not survive
I love the cliffhanger end it’s kinda like she’s telling you to take it how you read it.

Creative Copiing

What do nine people do when they e trapped in a building damaged by an earthquake? When they are antagonized by each other, how do they move to a better position? They focus on each other's stories and learn to care about each other. This is one amazing book.

If you could take any character from One Amazing Thing out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Engaging

I enjoyed the book very much. I can’t help but wonder what happened to the people. Were they rescued? That’s the only reason for the 4stars overall

Couldn't get into it. I really tried.

I just couldn't get into it. I pushed myself to decide when I got to chapter 6. Wouldn't recommend.

An ok way to kill some time

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I would hire a woman who can do a consistent and realistic Indian accent, a man with the same and an African American man to do the different parts. The "fake but clear" accents here - do nothing for me. The performance was not 5 stars for me at all.

Would you recommend One Amazing Thing to your friends? Why or why not?

Probably not. I can only think of one who might try this book.

How could the performance have been better?

Realistic, consistent accents would have helped - REALISTIC, CONSISTANT. Not just a smidge with nothing but the hope to help non native speakers.better understand.

Could you see One Amazing Thing being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Yes, I can see this being made into a made for TV movie -like Lifetime. I dont know who I would cast - perhaps a whole crew of newcomers.

Any additional comments?

Some of the sentences in this book, give me hope that I can write my own. I really love Divakaruni's other work. This one, not too much. Of all of the stories shared none were particularly fresh orginal or unpredictable. I will read divakaruni agan though.

Interesting writing

The ending was disappointing. I hate when a story ends unfinished, leaving no closure. It made me rethink the whole purpose of the book.

Good storytelling but it randomly ends

The story was very interesting. I couldn’t believe when it was over. There is no wrapup or conclusion no way to ponder what the point of the story was…
it just randomly ended.
