The realist long novel "Overture" tells the coming-of-age story of Xinjiang youth Du Dazhuan. Born in Xinjiang, he attended middle school in Beijing and university in Xinjiang before going to study in the US and do business in Russia. He later returned to his homeland and devoted himself to development and poverty alleviation.
The protagonist experiences a winding path in life, persistently pursuing the meaning of life. His story of continuous growth and transformation encapsulates the theme hidden in the title "Overture": every yesterday is the overture to today. Such is life, love, and life itself.
