About this listen

Luke Garrison is a hometown hero, a member of the National Guard ready to deploy again. Strong, sweet, and sexy, he doesn't have a girlfriend and doesn't want one. When the wildly beautiful Harper stumbles into his life, though, he realizes that she's the perfect decoy. A fake girlfriend to keep his family off his back until he's out on another mission.

So what if a single bite of her lip sends his mind to wicked places? He can control himself. Can't he?

Harper was on her way to starting a new life...again. But something about Luke makes her want to settle down in this small town and make Luke's house a home. When his arms wrap around her like steel, she finally knows what it's like to feel safe. Protected.

One night of sleeping in the same bed turns into something much, much more, and soon Luke can't keep his mind off Harper's wide gray eyes, or his hands off of her luscious curves. He never thought he'd feel this way about a woman again. But he knows that he can't tell her the truth about his dark past, and she can't reveal to him what she's running from.

Anyway, this isn't a real relationship. It's only for a month. Only pretend. Until it isn't....

Ten Stars across the board!

This story was a barrel of emotions. Everything it promises. Words can't describe how well narrated it was and the story line about true love made it amazing. Definitely worth the credit, probably two.

Super cute story….Terrible narration

Super cute small town romance, with the great sense of humor that I love about Lucy Score’s books. Love the characters and the story - super fun read. And…the audible narration is HORRIBLE. I suffered through because I liked the story, but wow it was really bad.

Great Quick Read!

I say quick read because I finished it in a couple days a good little break from some other longer books I was listening to. The story was cute and relatable and not overly done. It is full of heartbreak and randomness from how the whole story starts in the beginning but it is a compelling love story that makes you want the characters to work out. The narration was good no problems switching characters or keeping the voices all the same. Overall a good book!

Loved this story!

I loved Luke and Harper’s story, from the moment they meet they both have instant attraction but Luke has baggage from his past that prevents him from acting on that attraction. This book put me on an emotional rollercoaster, one minute I’m laughing the next I’m crying. I love the small town aspect of Benevolence and how everyone accepted Harper. This was an amazing book even though it made me cry so many times. Melissa Moran did an amazing job narrating this book. Another 5 star read/listen from Lucy!

Good but not a top 5 Lucy Score for me

It was a good story but the fmc came off desperate to me at times. She was just too available for the mmc. I get they were attracted to each other but if a man is throwing you mixed signals why allow it? Also why make it easy for him?

You instantly become enamored w/the characters!

I really enjoy how Ms.Lucy writes her characters in such a way that you feel something you can relate yourself to or know someone close to you that has the same attributes. You want to help the character, but also see them succeed in helping themselves realize they are worthy and can get out of their own situation - but at the same time you can’t help but want to see their “white night“ come to the rescue in some romantic way, and Lucy delivers that and oh boy, SHE DELIVERS THATIN MULTIPLE CLIMATIC WAYS (innuendo heavily implied tehee,,,,,,!!!)

Enjoy your time with Pretend You’re Mine. This three part series is something to fully enjoy with all of your senses, even grabbing your favorite snack and beverage. I enjoy all of Lucy’s books that I have begun reading, and recently re-reading some and I look forward to continue reading this author. She is extremely fun, funny, exciting, builds suspense and romance into every book that it makes you want to read the next one as soon as possible. I have spent, many hours, not realizing what time it is and only getting a few hours of sleep before it is time to wake up and do the duties of the day, but it is worth it!!!

You will love this book, this series, and Lucy Scores other books. She is, I believe, one of the greatest 21st century romance, authors of our time that depict what’s going on in our communities. She adds the struggles that people actually have as well as the love that people celebrate. It is wonderful to see that it’s not all hearts, flowers and sex because that is not what the world is made of - it’s a healthy dose of everything and that’s exactly what Lucy puts into her novels and I for one love it!!! Hip hip hooray, hip hip hooray!!!

The voice is killing me!

Love the story, but the narrator has a subtle lisp and a robotic cadence. It’s making it really hard to enjoy this book!

Great story, reader seemed like AI

Great story, but the reader sounds like AI. Robotic. Didn’t do the story justice. Frustrating.
