Publisher's summary

A nice, normal life. Is that too much to ask? For Riley Thorn it is.

Divorced. Broke. Living with a pack of elderly roommates. And those hallucinations she’s diligently ignoring? Her tarot card-dealing mom is convinced they’re clairvoyant visions.

Just when things can’t get worse, a so-hot-it-should-be-illegal private investigator shows up on her doorstep looking for a neighbor...who turns up murdered.

Nick Santiago doesn’t play well with others. Unless the “others” are of the female persuasion. Wink. He’s a rebel, a black sheep, a man who prefers a buffet of options to being stuck with the same entrée every night, if you catch his drift.

When the pretty, possibly psychic Riley lands at the top of the list of suspects, Nick volunteers to find out whodunit. Only because he likes solving mysteries not because he wants to flex his heroic muscles for the damsel in distress.

All they have to do is figure out who pulled the trigger, keep the by-the-book detective with a grudge at bay, and deal with a stranger claiming he was sent to help Riley hone her psychic gifts. All before the killer discovers she’s a loose end that requires snipping.

Funny read

Great narration. I would have rather had a duet, but still great.
This isn’t a typical Lucy Score book, but that’s one of the many reasons I love her writing. She has such a variety of styles and tropes. She has something for everyone. This was kind of a return to the humor that’s closer to the Blue Moon series, but not exactly. I think fans of the Stephanie Plum series (like me) will love this one. It’s RomCom with a side of suspense, or suspense with a side of RomCom. I laughed so many times while trying to solve the mystery.

Nick and Riley are such a fun duo with lots of chemistry. The reluctant psychic bit was the perfect addition to the storyline. The P.I. business was a great outlet for everything. So many things could happen for any future books. Hint, hint. As always there’s plenty of witty banter and shenanigans. Riley has the best neighbors. I might want to be Mrs Penny when I grow up. I’m not going to tell who did it. You’ll have to read it yourself to find out. I would have preferred less of a slow burn and more bedroom time.

Dozens of LOL moments

The narrator made this already hilarious rom com mystery even funnier with all of her amazing character voices. This has been my favorite audiobook of the year! I hope the next audiobook in the series comes out soon!

Psychic detective

This book is well narrated but it is too long. The character development of Riley is well done. There are some funny moments but the story drags.

psychically amusing

A much needed distraction from the news. Entertaining in very light, good natured way, especially the old folks.

Amusing fluff

A quirky enjoyable listen, not much substance. It should appeal to some Stephanie Plum fans -

One of the best first-of-series books I’ve read!

Excellent! One of the best first-of-series books I’ve read. Original story line, great characters, and all around hilarious. Looking forward to the next book!

Should be made into a MOVIE

I loved this book; loved the audio book even more. The characters really came to life and made me laugh out loud many times throughout the book. The flow of the story progressed at a great pace with likable characters you'd want to get to know (well maybe except Riley's grandmother). It was very difficult to stop listening and i know i will definitely listen to this story again and again. This has everything in it, craziness, romance, action, comedy, suspense, mystery, and a twist. This really should be made into a movie and I don't think that about most of the books/audiobooks I read/listen. I think I could even get my guy to watch this as a movie (he really doesn't like rom coms).
