This book gave me real inspiration and faith in our country. But I wish you told more about Henry Stanton. Elizebeth Cady husband. But I see you not a Replican but a bleeding heart liberal. If you did that he was working behinds the sense to get Abe Lincoln elected and helping in establishing the republican party. Being Elizebeth is my third cousin. Hope I didn't disappoint you much at all. SORRY.

the calmness of narrators voice.

carl higbe is a great writer, well researched and great factual history plus in the end of each character he would ask them questions to why they thought the way they did. very good audio

History-remember it!

I loved the reliving of our history, as told by Carl Higbie. He always puts passion into what he believes . I Learned A LOT and enjoyed listening to the audio version. Thank you Carl 🇺🇸.

The incredible detail of historic figures.

I learned so much from Carl. His personal comments at the end of each chapter and his “questions” that he “might” have asked were wonderful.

lots to unpack

I remember lots of these incredible people, having grown up in the 50s and 60s, but had forgotten lots of the underlying details of their contributions. And some were new to me. Who knew that U. S. Grant wasn't his given name. Same with Frederick Douglas. I'll be listening to this again!

I like the connection between the people and the logical sequence. Carl writes with an obvious love of history and a commitment to accuracy. He makes me feel like I want to know these people better.
