Short story, good to be prepped for the end!

REDOUBT
A Short Story of the Apocalypse
By: Michael Bunker
Narrated by: Chase Bradley
I don't know the series this short story is in but was able to figure out the player pretty quick. They all seem to be preppers and it is a good thing, they were going to need it. A good short story for this genre. The narrator was perfect for this short story.

Epic drama

A mean and epic short story of a bunch of friends trying to survive in a mountain retreat, as the world around them collapses into chaos and anarchy.

Chase Bradley's narration is well done. He gets the right tone and the reader can almost smell/ taste the severity of the situation.

The cool thing is that this story slots neatly into the beginning of Michael Bunkers WICK saga and some of the characters are found again in his The Last Pilgrims novel.

good, but...

I quite enjoyed this short story and thought it was well written, not to mention timely, given the state of America right now. However, I could really sense that it is part of something bigger and didn't find it particularly satisfying as a stand-alone.

Excellent short story.

I don't really listen to audio books much, but I decided to give this one a try. It's short, which I prefer, and good. The production and narrator were excellent. I was immerse in the story and intrigued by the setting. I look for to more stories of this world that Mr. Bunker has created.

Great short story

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes the audiobook was read real nice. He made the story flow and you could easily follow along.

What did you like best about this story?

I've read Michael Bumker's Wick serious and really enjoyed it.
It was nice to listen to a short story near the beginning when things went awry.
Only problem I found with this story is Yeah it's a short story but it was a little to short.
I was just really getting into the story when it came to the end.
So if you like a Short, short stories you'd enjoy this. I think you would enjoy it without reading the Wick books. It's a stand alone story so you don't really need to know about the story line to enjoy this book.
Happy Reading/Listening!

Enjoyable!

I'm not familiar with the series this is a part of, but it was pretty good nonetheless. While the author's tone is a little pedantic, as these kind of stories often are, I enjoyed the way he demonstrated that people can successfully work together, despite some deeply held differences of belief, and that there are things more important than ideology.
