Publisher's summary

When Gabe Hamilton saw Mia Crestwell walk into the ballroom for his hotel’s grand opening, he knew he was going to hell for what he had planned. After all, Mia is his best friend’s little sister. Except she’s not so little anymore. And Gabe has waited a long time to act on his desires.

Gabe has starred in Mia’s fantasies more than once, ever since she was a teenager with a huge crush on her brother’s best friend. So what if Gabe’s 14 years older? Mia knows he’s way out of her league, but her attraction has only grown stronger with time. She’s an adult now, and there’s no reason not to act on her most secret desires. As Gabe pulls her into his provocative world, she realizes there’s a lot she doesn’t know about him or how exacting his demands can be. Their relationship is intense and obsessive, but as they cross the line from secret sexual odyssey to something deeper, their affair runs the risk of being exposed - and is vulnerable to a betrayal far more intimate than either expected.

You should stay with the Highlanders

Would you try another book from Maya Banks and/or Adam Paul?

I have enjoyed Maya Banks books up to this time but this one seems to much of a poor copy of Fifty Shades of Grey, but not as good and based upon this time of listening to Adam Paul I will not place judgement based upon this book

Loved this book

I love Maya Banks and she didn't disappoint in this first book of a new series. She writes books that grab you from the first page and keep you hooked till the end. I didn't want this book to end and can't wait to start the next one. You will fall in love with Gabe and Mia will definitely be reading this book again in the future.
Warning this is for mature audiences 18 and older

Nice listen -

What was one of the most memorable moments of Rush?

Gabe's transformation.

Have you listened to any of Adam Paul’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I preferred Adam Paul's performance in Rush to his performance in the KGI series because I was used to Harry's voices.

Any additional comments?

The story was entertaining. I am not a fan of kinky sex. However, the delivery was not too severe in this case. Not a spectacular story - I much prefer the KGI series. But, worth a listen. Maya Banks is an extraordinary talent. Her range is phenominal!

Good storyline

Cute story about a girl who is in love with her brother's best friend. He finally notices her and they hide their relationship from the brother. Lots of graphic sex scenes and the narrator did a pretty good job overall. I would have probably liked it more if it was a woman narrator during the female parts but I still enjoyed the book.

different strokes for different folks

I thought this was hot. Mia got just what she wanted. The narrator was ok. Im just glad they choose a male to read the book.

Can't get enough

I've listened to this so many times and I still get mad and teary eyed at the same places. Gabe and Mia's love story is amazing.

Horrible Narrator!

Let me just say this is my first “full” review, I never leave comments but I had to on this one.

The story is not my fav and I like all kinds but it could have definitely been to the narrator Adam Paul.

He is absolutely horrible, very monotone, spoke to fast, absolutely can not do female voices well. I literally laughed out loud when I heard the female voices they were that bad!

I won’t even continue this series (and it came highly recommended to me) because he narrates ALL 3 books. At this point I wish I could get a refund.

IF YOU'RE OPEN MINDED.....

Any additional comments?

If you're an open minded reader and modern, slightly erotic romance is your genre, then I'd suggest ignoring the negative reviews of the book and trying it. I went in a bit suspicious due to the reviews, but found I liked the plot and characters. My ability to connect with a character's humanity is important to me and and I felt Banks included enough humanity in her characters to make them real and relate-able. This series reads a bit like the 50 Shades Trilogy in regards to the kink so if you didn't like or were appalled by those books then don't give Banks' Rush Series a try -- you probably won't like it either.

I would describe the audio performance of this series as good, not excellent, but that's probably because I felt like Paul's voice made the men sound older than intended. This is a personal opinion, though, and I didn't take marks off for his performance because he did well in all other ways.

LOVE LOOVE LOOOVE

Absolutely loved it. My immediate thoughts after the first chapter was “great..... another attempt to re-write Fifty Shades of Gray.” In the end, I was totally wrong, I laughed, got angry, was repulsed, cried and talked to the characters as if they were real people. The hero (Gabe) and heroine (Mia) have known each other for years. Gabe is scarred by his ex-wife and vows he would never get involved in a relationship without protecting himself. Mia has always had a girlish crush on Gabe, never knowing his special likeness for her. Now Mia is all grown up, and plans to make a surprise appearance to her brother’s hotel grand opening ....... and there it begins. Very happy ending, I only wish there was an epilogue to follow.
