Parker was the last thing I expected when I packed my bags and moved to small-town Texas after learning my then-ex cheated two months before our wedding. All I knew is that I wanted to be far away.
With my savings and a broken heart, I purchased a fixer-upper and took the next plane to a place where only one person knew my name. It was supposed to be my perfect opportunity to start over and scrub the male species from my mind. And it would have worked had Parker not smiled at me from the other end of the bar with eyes so blue they'd make a nun swoon.
I should have stayed away because the last thing my heart needs is another failed relationship. But before I knew it, that smile turned into drinks, and eventually, his mouth on mine. Our fling was supposed to start and end that night, so imagine my surprise when he showed up at my door, determined to fix my house and broken heart.

Sam Rider is mouthy, bossy, uppity as shit, and I have no choice but to deal with her smart-mouth since she’s my daughter’s teacher. I never trusted anybody to tell me what to do and I sure as hell won’t start with Sam, ten years younger, a city girl and only in Starlight Canyon for the short haul. I have to watch those sinful pink lips tell me what’s right for three solid months and she won’t stop until I change my mind.

Soft and Sweet
I've read this story and series prior to the release of the audio. I liked the story and felt bad for Parker when Rene could not let her past hurts go and initially push Parker away without really giving him an opportunity to see his true intentions. This is a sweet and soft story with a good HEA. Also I've listen to Ms Brehon in another series written by one of my other fav authors and I do love how she tells a story and brings the character to life, especially if she's feeling it. Now the other narrator was ok.. he wasn't bad I was just looking for him to put just a bit more authority or manly into Parker. Overall good story
