Publisher's summary

Nathan always had the most beautiful smile.

Every time I caught a glimpse of it, I had to smile too.

It didn’t matter that he grew up on the wrong side of the city, I saw the good in him… even when he didn’t.

That wasn’t enough to keep us together in high school though.

One night ruined everything. A night I’ll never forget.

Years have passed and now he’s on the cover of magazines and the star of movies.

The reformed bad boy with with a charming smile that makes women weak in the knees.

No one knows what happened that night that forced us apart. No one can ever know.

I can’t tell him no, even if I wanted to.

The moment he locked his light blue eyes on me again, I was ruined.

I never stood a chance.

Second Chance

Nathan and Harlow broke up years ago after something that happened on this bad side of town on night. Now Nathan is a famous actor on the show that Harlow is an extra on. This is a quick second chance romance, but Willow Winters packs a lot into it. From the first scene I was hooked all the way until the end.

sex first, questions later...

Another one of the plot where sex is first and questions later. These romance stories are getting old. I am not a writer but gosh if you are, please write the story then sex later. This is short story but sex seemed to be the main theme. Although i don't like the story but I managed to finish this. I liked the performance more than the plot.

The female narrator blew it for me

I hate to be negative because I don’t like to give bad reviews. I don’t want to hurt feelings, but the female narrator was very hard to listen to. She had a screechy voice which was very annoying. The male narrator did a great job, but I really had a hard time caring for the character of Nathan. I love Willow‘s books, but I think this is probably my least favorite couple of all of them, and I’ve read a lot of her books. I’ve never not cared if a couple got together, But I didn’t even care about Harlow or Nathan. It might be because it’s a novella, and we really didn’t get a chance to get to know the characters well.

A little sweet A little steamy second chance

This is one of those cases where the narrators match the characters perfectly. Alexa McKraken has a young innocent voice but taps into the deeper emotions when needed and Jean-Paul Mordrake has the bad boy but nice guy cadence down to an art form. The story itself is as the title very clearly hints at and is all about Nathan and Harlow's second chance. It is a very easy listen. I was able to finish it in a day. It centers around this couple who run into each other 10 years after their high school relationship disintegrated. There is a bit of mystery as to exactly what happened in HS that caused the break. Now that they have grown up and found each other again they have to find a way to get past everything and create the future they want together. Set in New York with a little bit of a Hollywood theme its got some heat, some drama, and is totally enjoyable.

Hmmm...

Well, I’m not new to Willow‘s books and I’ve been making my way reading through her backlist for a while now and the second I read the blurb for this book I was very intrigued. Nathan and Harlow dated on again and off again throughout high school and when they’re reunited again unexpectedly things seem to flip upside down. I thought this book was good, but I really couldn’t connect with our main characters. I don’t know if it was because the writing felt so vague or if it was just because these two were extremely volatile toward one another. Now I’m all for a toxic couple, in books of course. But these two kind of took it over the edge and didn’t quite sit with me. The book was good but it just wasn’t a home run out of the park. No matter how much I’d like to, I can’t love them all.

Fun book

I enjoyed this book, the story line was great but the Male characters voice was reallly fake., and it changed throughout the story. I really enjoyed the characters.

Second Chance

I really enjoyed this book. It was my first by Willow Winters and I can’t wait to dive into more from her. This was a second chance romance with emotion, drama and heat. The narrators were new to me but were good and it was an enjoyable listen. This was an all around good book.

Second Chance

Willow Winters... I loved the storyline! Harlow loved Nathan. What would you do if you came face to face with the one person you loved? "I lost her once, I won't lose her again" The only thing I would change is female narrator's 'male' voice!!!!! I cringed every time!

High School Sweethearts

I enjoyed listening to this story. However there were times the characters were talking to someone and thinking in their head at the same time and it was confusing as to what was actually said out loud. I did discover after half way through that I actually own the kindle version of this book but it has a different title and cover. Overall this is a quick read or listen and a cute story but not one of my favorites.
