Lieber Veit Lindau, was in den Achtzigern und Neunzigern (und für viele auch heute noch) mein Buch "Johannes" war, das könnte heute Ihr Buch "SeelenGevögelt" für viele Menschen werden. Würde ich heute noch einmal neu schreiben, könnte ein ähnliches Ergebnis dabei rauskommen wie Ihr Werk. Das meine ich als ganz besonders dickes und vor allem aufrichtiges Kompliment... Veit ist ein Rebell, der weniger zur politischen als zur seelischen Rebellion und Revolution aufruft, um von dort den sozialen Raum zu beeinflussen. Er hindert seine Leser buchstäblich daran, mit Anfang 30 zu sterben und sich erst Mitte 80 eingraben zu lassen, stößt sie vielmehr an, rüttelt sie wach, ob mit herausfordernden oder poetischen Worten. Fast alle Mittel scheinen ihm recht, um wieder Bewegung und Leben ins Leben zu bringen. Veits Bücher sind jedes auf seine Art Aufrufe zum Erwachen zu sich Selbst und für dieses Leben und seine schier ungeheuren Möglichkeiten. Aber wundervoller Weise kommen sie nicht moralisch oder predigend daher, sondern frech und witzig. Sie machen an im Sinne von an- und einschalten. Tatsächlich schalten sie die Lebensgeister in uns (wieder) an, machen Mut zu sich Selbst und zum Leben. Insofern sind sie sogar religiös, schaffen sie doch die re-ligio, die Rückverbindung zum Urgrund, zu jenem Anfang als Kind, wo der Himmel noch offen war und die Welt ein großes Abenteuer in einem wundervollen Paradiesgarten. Wie Marianne Williamson in ihren durch Nelson Mandela berühmt gewordenen Worten hilft er uns die obere Grenze als solche zu erkennen und aufzulösen. Der Himmel ist offen für uns ganz persönlich und für alle anderen auch. Dieses Buch nimmt die Angst vor eigenen hochfliegenden Träumen, den großen Visionen und himmelsstürmenden Ideen. Dieses Buch lässt uns nicht nur verstehen, sondern auch spüren: Wir helfen niemandem, wenn wir uns auf Mittelmäßigkeit beschränken und reduzieren lassen. Er zeigt Wege, die er sympathisch mit seinem eigenen verknüpft, und öffnet das Feld von Mut und Exzellenz all jenen, die sich offen oder insgeheim - danach sehnen. Und er macht es mit Freude, was mir persönlich so wichtig ist. Wo die (Lebens)Freude ist, da ist Dein Weg, sagt er uns und bezüglich Lebensfreude gibt es weder Obergrenze noch Pensionszeit, das Leben ist beständige und wachsende Arbeit an ihrer Verwirklichung.
