Shutout is a college hockey romance with lots of spice, swoon, and a happily ever after. It's the second book in the Rules of the Game series and can be enjoyed as a standalone.

It was just okay.

The characters were great, but nothing seemed to happen. It was sweet, but hard to stay invested in.

Good Hockey Listen

I read Offside a while ago and finally got to the next book in the series.
Shutout is a friend's little sister with some forced proximity. The chemistry and attraction between Sera and Tyler are off the charts. That was one of my favorite parts of this book.

I loved that both characters had their own passions and drive. They both wanted to succeed in their own way with those passions. But to also have a seriousness to the storyline that made me connect more with the characters.


This is a great listen, and I thoroughly enjoyed this audio. The narrators did a great job with this story. I listened to it in one sitting and loved it.

Love Tink and Hades

The story is amazing but specifically for this audio, the narrator for Sera was spot on! Couldn’t have picked anyone better. Tyler’s narrator wasn’t exactly what I pictured him sounding like, but he grew on me more and more throughout the book. Definitely worth the purchase.

I loved this book so much it was well worth the wait I loved the relationship that Seraphina and Tyler made the spice was top tier 🔥 and it also really got me emotional from the car. You probably wouldn’t think it, but there are all heavy topics in it that got me emotional but I loved it and the bonus chapters are amazing ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I am not really good at rating spice but 🌶️🌶️🌶️

I loved the story line, MMC & FMC were both great. I was really glad when she booted Abby. Overall it was a great book and great narrators.

The best love story I've ever heard!

I may be a novice reader/listener but this with the best story ever especially having read the first book in the series and the BONUS chapters had me screaming and smiling ear to ear!

(Sigh) I’m so in love with the idea of being in love. This book was an amazing follow up to Chase & Bailey. Tink & Hades were fire. These two had so much chemistry it was literally stëaming up my kindle! 😮‍💨
The story has a bit of a slow burn (a staple of Keelan) but she is one of the ONLY authors who writes them that I read because the relationship building in the process is so good!! You have a chance to fall in love with the characters then root for them to boot.
This story followed Seraphina (Chases’ baby sister) and one of his besties, Tyler who met previously on Halloween in costume and hooked up in a club bathroom. He gave her a hat trick of “O’s” and she gave him the inability to be with anyone else after. They meet again when Tink moves into her brothers house with 2 hockey brothers, Tyler (Hades), being one of them.
The world relationship building was so amazing I gobbled this book up way faster than I wanted to. Gabriel Spires (new to me but love his voice) & one of my all time favs, Stella Bloom added depth to the story when I listened as I did both, read and listened. I had to turn my radio down quite frequently while driving cause DAY-UM! This was HOT AF! 🥵
All in all, another amazing read. I loved the real life events in this book as well as the romance and character growth. I swoon every time I read a novel by Avery. My only gripe was no closure with Abby & her brother, moms recovery & whether or not Chase was a carrier. Other than that?! Bellissimo!
