Publisher's summary

When America is hit with a pandemic - soon finding out it was a viral and biochemical attack from terrorists - the population is both shocked and relieved to quickly have a vaccine on hand to save them. Untested and rushed to market, the people don’t care. In droves they line up, hoping to avoid the deadly virus.

But when a new variant strikes the vaxxed population, chaos and mayhem soon follow. Too late, they discover there is something much worse than the virus unleashed on the United States; something so hideous and terrifying, it will make the virus look like a bad case of the flu.

Lilly and Pepper are twins. While Pepper, an Atlanta police officer, tries to hold the blue line in a world gone mad, Lilly, a deaf Medical Research Assistant at the CDC, struggles through the apocalypse - along with her best friend, Bo, and her dog, Moses - in search of her son. Together, they’ll have to part the red sea of death and find safety and deliverance from the evil that has pervaded America.

DISCLAIMER: The book contains a few wordy-dirds, mostly in Chapter 36, Grandpa’s Last Stand, the content of which may trigger veterans with PTSD. The language is essential for this chapter, especially.

Worth the Wait!

Lisa (LL) Akers also wrote the Let Me Go series and the SHTF series. All are awesome including this long awaited jewel! I saw a review about the second part of Signs of Life Book 1 is thru a dog's eyes. Part of it is but not even nearly half and it adds to the story in my opinion. Good job to both of the authors and of course narration by our Kevin Pierce tops it off ! Enjoy!!

2nd time listening, and still enjoyable!

I came back to this one again hoping that book 2 would be out on audible. It is not, lol. But this still turned out to be a good read. Like some of the other reviewers stated, towards the end of the book you get the perspective from the dog. I thought this was a nice twist on the traditional zombie genre. I truly love books like this where you get the point of view from every day citizens. Not peppers, or gung ho military officials. Excited when Book 2 comes to audible, as it’s already in paper back.

I Absolutely LOVE!! this book!!

I love a very unique post-apocalyptic book point of view it's never happened before I've never seen a book like this I've never heard a book like this I love it!! of animals so hearing the post-apocalyptic disaster from an animal or dogs point of view. absolutely amazing and so in your seat nail biting I am like cheering for the dog and I am just like yes yes and the way they talk to other animals it's so cool how they talk like humans to each other like hello cat hello dog have you seen my human there are no humans just sick and dead things everything is very wrong the cat said. it's like that it's so cool. the first part of the book is the humans point of view and the second half of the book is the dog's point of view. if you're reading my review I'm asking to not judge a book by what I'm saying if you don't think it sounds fun it is amazing please get this book it is absolutely phenomenal it will leave you one more I want more I want more of these books please please L.L. Akers and Danny Brown please continue these book series and if you possibly have any chance of reading these reviews if there's any way to make like a novella for the series that is completely and totally just the dogs point of view. I would love to get the animals point of view as a full book. and instead of doing the humans point of view somebody should finally do a book from the animals point of view I had the animal survive and how they hang out another animals like humans hang out with other humans in the apocalypse. we should show the animals version of that. I know it sounds absolutely silly probably to you but it is going to be a bestseller probably I'm telling you it is amazing I am so excited I love this book I just finishing it right now and I'm going to start listening to it all over again right after it ends. I've never done that before with any book where I listen to it a second time right away. thank you so much for this amazing book you guys are amazing authors thank you. I want to say thank you to Kevin Pierce he's an amazing narrator he's my all-time favorite I have every book by him that's an apocalyptic book that he's ever done. I'm now starting to listen to his true crime books too because he just makes any book he reads so entertaining. but God bless Kevin Pearce for the great work he does he really knows how to bring characters to life and with he reads and narrates the story I forget all about the fact that they're not different people and it's just one person doing the voice I forget all about it it's just being one person I think they're actually different characters different people I think it's cool because all of a sudden these people become so real and I forget that it's one person doing all the voices. he is so talented. side note I if the author is an very sadly naive for one thing and that is the last part which starts with the Georgia guidestones and thinks they're cool and it's about the apocalypse everyone knows the man was part of the bilderberg group the Illuminati and his goal is to work the planet out and to bring the population down to 500,000 maybe you should pay attention to what you're reading more often look into it before you think of something it's so scary and cool I'm thanks for perpetuated this lie and I'm glad you're excited about his sadistic ideas you're a sad person. promoting someone's controlling birth control and how someone lives and dies to show them how many people are can live just sad absolutely sad that used to believe in Christ Jesus our lord but don't believe a bunch of rocks that were written by man that did not get inspired by God I like your books but clearly I'm so glad I don't know you because clearly you're a four and one with government and clearly for people being killed off innocently because believe the guys doing again and put them into the mind frame of a guy that wants to kill everybody off and a guy that's part of the Illuminati it changes the way of thinking do not praise the Georgia guidestones praise Jesus Christ the son of God by the way George Jones never going to happen the word of God comes to pass and everything do every prophecy has been fulfilled but you're turning to the Georgia guidestones. I was going to get the book of five star four star review but because of that last part of the book I'm giving it a one-star review

You won’t be disappointed!

Just when I think I know this author she throws in a wrench of surprise! Do not start this book unless you have no plans because you won’t want to stop until it’s finished. Lisa is a pleasure to read no matter the genre. Great work to these authors, now get busy on the next!

Loved this book!!!

There are very few apocalyptic zombie fiction books that I like. This one moved up in my top 5 list! I love the animal POVs in this book as any true animal lover would. I’m looking forward to the next book in this series!

Kevin Pierce had me smiling and sad with his animal voices in this book!

Excellent

I didn’t really anticipate enjoying this book because, well, zombies. I don’t like zombies. But the focus was on the people and dogs, not the zombies! I found the story engrossing and the plot line wonderful. I loved Napa and Moses - you’ll have to read it yourself to figure out who they are! Anyway, great performance, great story, and amazing characters both human and animal.

phenomenal!

This book is a great start to what I'm sure will be another great series by the author. I'm a huge fan of the post-apocalyptic genre and this book will not disappoint. I'm normally not a big "zombies" fan but I found myself unable to stop listening to this one. The characters are easy to fall in love with and Kevin Pierce does an awesome job narrating as always!

Awesome Book!

I can't wait for the second book of this new series, the only thing I HATED about the book is that number 2 isn't already out but at the end of this one you get a clip of the starting to the second one so I know it's out there!! please, please hurry, I'm dying to find out about Pepper and Nala. I read a few reviews that complained about part of the book being from the dogs view but that added to the book so I really enjoyed that part, and the humans part was also good. In the first part of the book you understand the meaning of the title. I have read LL Akers SHTF series and loved it so I had to listen to this one and am so glad I did (except the 2nd book isn't ready! GRRR)!
Great listen and I'm impatiently waiting for book #2!
