Loved this one

This is the third in her "rarest bloom" series. I have liked them all, but I really loved this one. Celia and Jonathan are both compelling characters. Now I can't wait until May for the final book in this series.

Good story & characters too much sex

This really in an interesting story with likeable characters, but just too much sex for me. Sex in a romance book should be like icing on a cake....adding to the flavor. I skipped through at least 5 chapters in order to find the story again. I'm no prude and enjoy some spice in my romance books....but not THIS MUCH. While Polly Lee did an ok job with some of the female voices, the male voices just didn't do it for me. But, I listened to the end and did enjoy the story.

I loved this book

This is the first book, I listened to in this series not realising it was the 3rd,
however it stood on it's own, I didn't feel like I was missing anything by not starting with book 1.
I have to disagree with one review that hated the narrator. I thought she was amazing, her performance was perfect. I felt that she "got" the characters and their insecurities and misunderstandings.
I agree with another listener, who said that she can't wait for book 4 - the Duke's story, I loved his character.

Love this series

Got the first two in this series from my local library, then had to listen to the others. Have to admit at first the pace in these seemed a little 'slow', but when you listen to all of them in sequence you get all the nuances, humor, and you understand the history. These two characters are some of my favorites because of their somewhat 'darker' pasts, which makes them more real I think. Just starting on the final one in the series.

Love the series-can't wait for Castleford's story!

I really liked all three books so far in this series. The story lines were engaging, and I loved the humor. I am looking forward to the fourth/final book, "Dangerous in Diamonds," coming in 2011. What's not to love about Castleford, who only stays sober on Tuesdays so he can attend to his estate business.

Another winner in the rarest blooms series

I have read both of the previous books in this series and was not disappointment by this one. It is slightly different from the rest in that the Ceilia character comes from a very shady heritage. It was another wonderful performance by Polly Lee although I felt that some of the male voices she mimics were almost comical. She certainly knows how to lead us down the right path with a character when listening. Overall a very enjoyable listen.

Truly Terrible Narration

In Sinful in Satin, the story is mediocre and the narration is truly terrible. The narration is flat and oddly cadenced and the voice characterizations are bizarre (the villain's voice made me laugh out loud and the hero's bedroom voice inspired the wrong type of groans). The story is not strong enough to withstand the distracting narration.

I'm returning this as I cannot finish it

I listened to my first Madeline Hunter book last week and adored it (His Wicked Reputation), so I fully expected to like this one based on reviews.

The voices used for the main characters are dreadful and after 3 hours, I cannot tell that the story is going anywhere. I've tried skipping ahead, but this just isn't the book for me.
