The man doesn't know what it means to wear a shirt, thrives off protein bars, and you guessed it, moans loud enough for people to believe he's Meg Ryan in a restaurant.

Spoiler Alert: I WON'T be having what he's having.

Tack on his continuous flirting and his polished good looks, and I'm caught staring down the barrel of a seductive temptation that makes it hard for me to sleep at night.

But guess who can control herself? This girl.

Because if there is one thing I know for certain, it's that JP Cane and I are so not meant to be.

This was a miss for me

I'm not going to lie, The dual narration at the beginning was really hard to get used to. It sounded like each narrator recorded their portion separately because usually dual narration doesn't bug me. If you listen to the sample, you'll probably hear what I mean. After a while, it didn't bother me so much.
At times the story was cute and at times it was so cliché that I wanted to just be done with the book. I enjoyed the first couple of sexy time scenes and then I was over it. The story was just not compelling enough for me to actually care about the characters. It had promise but it fell flat for me.

Great story and Narration

I laughed out loud so many times. The duet narration brings the story to life and enhances the listening experience. I’d give this 10 stars if I could.

An enemies-to-lovers workplace romance, So Not Meant To Be was a laugh-out-loud funny, full of feels and fire, hard-fought love story with a bit of a forced proximity spin. If you loved When Harry Met Sally, you’re going to love Meghan’s fresh, new take on it. Quinn’s writing style is a wonderful blend of side-splitting humor and heart-tugging moments. It’s completely addictive, which is why I find myself reaching for her romcoms over and over.

Narrated in duet by Stella Hunter and Aaron Shedlock, I listened to the audiobook. Hunter and Shedlock did a fantastic job bringing Kelsey and JP to life in my ears, and their performance here was fantastic. The title sets the tone of this romcom, as the heroine is thoroughly convinced she and the hero are So Not Meant To Be. Kelsey and JP are bickering professional colleagues. JP is one of the three billionaire real estate developer brothers who own Cane Enterprises, and Kelsey is one of their critical vendors as well as the sister of JP’s brother, Hux’s girlfriend, Lottie, both of whom readers met in A Not So Meet Cute.

Paired on an important project, JP and Kelsey head off to San Francisco for two full weeks of togetherness in a shared penthouse. The sexual tension between them was already running hot, but things really start heating up as they get to know each other during this time. They have plenty of witty, snappy banter and sizzling chemistry, but what really stole my heart was their vulnerable moments. Oh, and JP’s penchant for animal rescues. (Shout out to Kazoo!)

So Not Meant To Be was a highly-entertaining, heart-string-pulling, hotter-than-heck romcom. JP and Kelsey’s hard-fought love story was brimming with heat, heart and humor, and I listened to the audiobook in one day, laughing, swooning and blushing my way through it. Five smooches from me for So Not Meant To Be by Meghan Quinn!

So glad I opted for the audio version

I don’t normally pick audio books in this genre preferring to read them instead. Thought I’d give it a try when Meghan Quinn announced the release on her insta. Best decision ever. The readers were amazing! Gave life to the book and I thoroughly enjoyed every chapter!

Meghan Quinn is a true entertainer! And So Not Meant to Be has all the humor and sizzle as expected of her stories.
Kelsey Gardner has certain expectations of the qualities her soulmate should have and JP Crane just doesn’t cut it. She finds him annoying and he deliberately finds ways to continue annoying her.
When they are forced to share a penthouse due to work, they continue to battle with each other even as the sexual tension between them sizzles. Due to her insecurities Kelsey refuses to believe JP is serious and as JP has trust issues himself, he doesn’t share his feelings with her and she just doesn’t get it. That’s when this story starts to get more interesting.
Stella Hunter with Aaron Shedlock narrating in duet is all sexy fun with a perfect balance of humor and drama. Stella Hunter brings out Kelsey’s insecurities expertly and Aaron Shedlock’s sensual tones displays JP’s emotional ups and downs perfectly. And not to be missed is a rendition of the restaurant scene from When Harry Met Sally that had me checking my ear buds so as not to miss one second of it!!
I enjoyed this story, the banter, the angst, the humor, the sizzle, and especially the Podcasts of familiar characters.
Looking forward to the third Crane brother’s story next.

JP and Kelsey are everything!

Oh man, there is something special about the Cane brothers. I have been waiting patiently for JP to get his book and it is finally here! “So Not Meant To Be” is classic Meghan Quinn rom-com gold that brings all the laughs, chemistry and complete satisfaction of an amazing story.

JP and Kelsey’s relationship gave all the feels and I could not put this story down. Their relationship developed so naturally that it never felt forced or fake. JP and his feelings for Kelsey were so sweet and genuine, he had me turning into a pile of mush. Kelsey’s insecurities were justifiable and so relatable to me on a personal level. Their relationship was a slow burn but was not lacking in heat or tension. And JP’s special relationship with Kazoo had me smiling so big and made me love him even more. Meghan also threw in some past characters that had me screaming as each made their appearance.

Aaron Shedlock and Stella Hunter slayed the audio. Their performances for all the comedy scenes had me crying laughing and when the emotions got real, they made me feel what JP and Kelsey were feeling. This will absolutely be a repeat listen for me.
