Publisher's summary

It's been twelve years since the events of Children of Wrath, and now seventeen year old A.K. (Arthur King) finds himself thrust into the revolutionary movement begun by his father. A.K. wrestles with his own dark thoughts and his newfound responsibilities as he finds himself enthralled with an Inexorable night club and the young woman he's seen there. Charming familiar characters and inspiring new ones meet in this story which questions the validity of self-determination, the power of love, and the breaking point of human resolve.

Thrilling

I as so excited to see that this book was told from the point of view of Arthur (AK). After the last book I was thrilled to get to learn why his birth parents tossed him out when they did, what his mind is like now that he has been cured and what has happened since his father's death. T.A. Ward does an amazing job of telling this story through his eyes. A boy who while mature for his age is still just a teenager and one who carries a heavy burdens not just because of what he is but because of the choices made by his father. I think Desmond Manny was a fantastic narrator choice to bring his voice to life. And just as with the last book I quickly became caught up in the story and didn't want to stop listen. I have so many more great things to say about this book but don't want to spoil anything for future listers. I am absolutely in love with this series and can't wait for the release of the third book! I did receive a copy of this audiobook for free to be able to honestly review it.

wow

amazing book and amazing direction. Never saw this happening. I am hoping that there is another book coming. Again the narrator does an amazing job with bringing thy he characters to life. Each person was real and you can feel them as they go through their trials. I was like a proud mom when AK didn't cave and then a mad one , but sad , when he became nutty. Again another great book to add to your collection! Well worth the time and money.

Really love how simple the book covers are as well

Really enjoying this series, the Author sure does know how to suck you in. The story idea is so original that it makes you want to know what else the Author has up her sleeve. Really love how simple the book covers are as well. Simple and to the point. I liked how with the second book, you got to see more of the darker elements of the world. It not all pretty and ribbons, actually there is a lot of darkness.

That ending though, grrr. When the third book coming out?

A book you will love to hate!

Life in hiding...for years. Raised in a slum community because of what you are and who your dad is...can you do it? Then, when the opportunity to leave and fight the government and repair the hurts comes up...do you take it? Or do you sit back and just live your life. This story of AK and his family and the choices...and consequences of those choices...is one that will catch your heart and make you think about what you would do and how would you react.
This is a well written book with well developed characters. I recommend you read book 1 first, but it is not necessary to understand this book. The author does a really good job of giving background story as necessary.
I listened to the audio book version of this book. At first I was disappointed that it was narrated by a different narrator from the first book, but, however, Desmond Manny did a fantastic job with this story. I forgot I was listening to someone reading a book to me, but, rather, it was more like having a story told.
I recommend this book and will be looking for book 3 soon!

Thrilling story

This is a thrilling second book in the Children of Wrath series, it keeps you captivated from beginning to end as it takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions. The story is told from AK’s (Arthur) POV, and the author does an amazing job of making it all seem real. You can feel the tension, anxiety, madness, fear and love right along with the characters and the moments of tenderness, heartbreak, and horror leave you breathless. You find yourself immersed in AK’s struggles and there are twists that you just do not see coming. The narrator of the audiobook really drew you into the story and his portrayal of the characters was excellent. I can not wait to hear the next book in the series.

Great Second Book in The Trilogy!

Soldiers of Salem: Children of Wrath, Book 2 by T. A. Ward and narrated by Desmond Manny is a very enjoyable second book in the Children of Wrath Trilogy. The author starts the story twelve years after the events of the first book. This world is a dark and bleak place for Inexorables and the Citizens of the country. The main character is A.K. he is pushed into joining a revolution to change things after the Day of Wrath. His mother and sister depend on him to be the man his father would have wanted him to become due to his sacrifice to cure A.K. and the price his family paid for that action. A.K. has plans and dreams of his own after joining the citadel. The inexorable nightclub he visits leads him in a direction that is often in opposition to the cause. He just wants what most people want; to love and be loved and to chose his own path. This is an exciting and action filled audiobook.

The narration by Desmond Manny is enjoyable and adds to the story of how the characters each are voiced. The production quality of the audiobook is excellent the performance is crisp and clear from beginning to end. I really enjoyed this audiobook and highly recommend it.
