It’s not terrible

The plot is interesting and will make you want to read more but the storytelling is agonizing. The main character is frustrating. I got the trilogy set but had enough listening to Juliet‘s depressing thoughts and read the summary of the last book.

Gripping!

I LOVE this series! I heard the first book and was desperate to hear the next. It's tense and sweet and poetic. It often had me on the edge of my seat. Kate Simses is sooo perfect as the narrator. I really enjoyed the writing style of Teherah Mafi.

Meh.

From all the hype, I had very high expectations for these books, but it was just mid.
I love Warren though.

Absolutely amazing!

Love love love this series!! So well written! Love the fact that she writes the FMC like the young teen she is and not an adult! You get to be inside her mind and experience her growing and changing! Fantastic story!

Speechless

This was an amazing production! I’ve read the books in the past but the narration was phenomenal as her voice built in strength with the lead character! It was absolutely the best audiobook I’ve ever listened to!!

Unique and compelling

This book/recording is compelling. Kate Simses performance is wonderful. I cannot imagine a better voice for Juliet. And the different voices for other characters are really good. The writing style gives a close look into the main characters mind. The noises and tones are intentional. And add a different flair that is unique. You have to remember reading/listening to this book that Juliet is 17 years old and has been for the majority of her life abused, neglected, and isolated. She has been told she is a monster by everyone. And she has been abandoned. So it makes sense that she would have so much self loathing. It also explains why she is VERY naïve. And most of the other characters surrounding her are all very young and immature. Juliet can be extremely annoying especially her inner monolog. She is far from perfect. But that's what makes her a good character. Through out these books and later in the series her character develops a lot. And she shows more depth. I love the symbolic image of the bird and how it links characters together. Warner and Aaron are not perfect either. And problematic at times. But that makes them feel more real. This book is not suitable for younger audiences I would say it is for older teenagers and up. It has course language and semi steamy scenes. But while it eludes to sex there is no description beyond kissing and some touching. This story combines in my opinion X Men meets dystopian meet love triangle romance with a bit of enemy's to lovers. Which I thoroughly enjoyed. Definitely would recommend this book.

absolutely lives up to the praise

the performance was, I believe, what sold me the most to listening all the way to the completion of the third book. kenji is, by far, my favorite character. idk what to say about these novels aside from the fact that they captivated me so instantly that I just had to binge through each book. I even bought ear buds so that I may listen to it discreetly while at work.
