Publisher's summary

Why survive the apocalypse when you can become the apocalypse?

Nature is dying. Perhaps before the world is turned into an industrious machine, nature itself can play one final trump card to save itself.

Summoned to a new world, a mushroom-loving mycologist needs to grow up and grow stronger in order to accomplish the goal that brought them to this new place: to save nature from the system that the sentient races have created.

Stats, levels, classes, and skills are all well and good, but when you're a Child of Poverty in the slums of City Nineteen, there's little you can do to change the world. Not unless you're willing to think outside the box!

Slow but interesting with anticipation growing

I am about done with this book (little over an hour till done) It takes a long time to get anywhere. I have yet to reach the end to see if the next book will be worth trying. As of now, just be patient with the book. It takes forever to get anywhere. Hopefully the last hour gets somewhere and let's the the next book start with a better pace.

Fun. But all build, no bite.

I feel like it should have had another hour or two after she made her decision. I'm gonna buy the next book, but I hope there is a lot of progression in it.

A slow build to what should be a good story

This was q good listen, interesting world, interesting system and skills, but it's just a really slow world build in this first book. I would have loved a bit more action or use of her skills, maybe a trip into a dungeon, but I presume that starts in the next book.

Decent, but incomplete

I did enjoy the first 2 books, but they are way too short. Neither feel like a complete book at all and both end with a minor cliffhanger. Extremely frustrating.

The calm before the storm

It's your average slice of life, litrpg. We get a lot of good world-building, a good look at the system, and, just as it ends, the Inciting incident that pulls the mc out of her new ordinary into something more.

What we don't get is a whole lot of action, and there are no stats. There are skill levels and some other crunchy bits to the system. Overall it's a promising start to another series by a talented author.

Can’t wait for the next book!

Loved this book! It’s a little short but don’t let that discourage you. Highly recommended!

Great Narration, Awesome Story

The narration is very well done. I usually listen to books at 2x or higher speeds, and the narrator does a great job of enunciating the words, and the words are not drowned out by background noise.

The story is great, and the world is well constructed. I enjoyed the story quite a bit.
One thing that kept breaking the immersion was the autonomy of the MC. The MC is a very young child who has full conversations and business deals with grown adults, which is super odd. I have a friend of mine who had a 3-year-old who was fully lucid and spoke very good English, and restaurant staff still couldn't wrap their minds around him ordering his own food, let alone give him real answers to any of the questions he asked. I couldn't imagine a world where a young child can be seen walking down the street and it not become a huge deal. It wasn't even a serious "con" to the story and certainly not even worth removing a star, but it was an odd thing in the series.

Fantastic as always

Absolutely fantastic book. Great characters and an interesting story and great world building. Much like everyone else my only complaint is it’s not a 100hr book. I just want more after finishing. Can never go wrong with Ravensdagger.

Short but good

Can’t wait for the next volume, well done progression and world building. An interesting take on a fantasy world gone wrong.
