About this listen

The echoes of betrayal still ring loud, but vengeance is within reach.

The thirst for power grows. The call for allies intensifies.

Reunited with his purpose, Sloan's ascent continues.

In a world where deceit shaped its history, a new era of rifts dawns. Red rifts, harbingers of divine wrath, bring forth gods and monsters, challenging humanity's very existence. As anarchy rises, the remnants of humanity cling to survival, relying on the Hunters who brave these rifts to keep them at bay. Amidst the chaos, the so-called heroes maintain their rule over the fractured land, backed by the powerful Association that seeks to control the coming change.

But change is inevitable, and Sloan will be at the heart of it. Level by level, he'll advance, navigating the treacherous landscape of gods, Hunters, and a world on the brink of collapse. With each step, he will reclaim the destiny that was taken from him. His vengeance.

A lot of battles and revenge!

Like I said above we see our MC jumping into power like never before and then competing his primary plans! However there are other mountains on the horizon…

This was a fun story to listen to but it does feel rushed a bit. Not a lot of character development either. But you have a lot of battles between Olympian level power!

The narrator is pretty alright though it does feel monotonous sometimes. I still enjoyed it all the same.

I thank Royal Guard for the code for this book and I’m looking forward to the next!

Is this the end?

I thought that this was the end of the series but I just saw that there is more to come.
I'm not sure how the author is going to write more but I'm looking forward to it.
These 2 books seem to wrap the series up great.
The MC becomes super powerful and takes care of those that betrayed him.
I definitely enjoyed this series.
I'm giving this book 7.5 out of 5 stars.

The end?

So I enjoyed the book itself there were times where the book seemed a bit mashed together and seemed to move to quick especially in book 3 but book 4 made up for the falling on that side thou I will say the ending seemed kinda just left out there I know a book 5 is supposed to come but that seemed like a definitive end. As for the narrator changes both were okay to me they aren’t the best money can buy but they both did a good job and put life into the book all in all
4.5/5 for the book
5/5 for the narrator
Overall I’ll round up to 5/5

Disappointed,

The narrator was changed for books 3 & 4 and this killed the enjoyment I had with this series. I felt so lost at the start of the book. I didn't recognize any of the characters due to the different voices. This lead to me having a hard time staying focused. Honestly the performance by Max is not bad just not what I wanted or expected.

If a series needs to change narrators for what ever reason, I much prefer to start the series over from the beginning. With that new voice for the series. Also I really enjoyed the performance in books 1 and 2 by Adam Stubbs. I wish he could have continued to voice this series,

it copies solo leveling too much, but not bad still. a more simplified version of solo leveling

Good Sequel

When it comes to a sequel, I’m personally looking for everything that made the last book worth it and then some. In this case it was more or less hit or miss and not exactly because of the writing. The situation is this, the author is relatively new, but his storytelling is certainly entertaining in my opinion. The narrator I have never come across before and also appears to be relatively new. His performance was perfectly acceptable, but you may be asking yourself how is it that I never came across this narrator before when this is volume three and four in one audio book and the answer is because there was a narrator change. The previous narrator had quite a few books under his belt, and I thoroughly enjoyed his performance. I think I've been a member of audible since 2009 and I've gone through somewhere in the ballpark of 1400 audio books. The reason why I bring this up is because I can count on one hand the number of narrators who were able to seamlessly pick up from the previous narrator with most of the audience not even realizing there had been a change. With that many books under my belt I have seen quite a few narrator changes that resulted in the death of a series and so I'm hoping that that does not happen here. It's usually not so bad when you're still towards the beginning of a story. I saw some comments on this book that made it sound like this was the final volume. Volume 5 is slated for a November 7th release of this year. I am hoping that if there's a volume 6, we get another audio book with this same narrator. That being said I'm simply going to say that I enjoyed the story, I look forward to more from both the narrator and the author, and well done to everybody who had a hand in bringing this story to us despite the challenges.

Sweet sweet payback

This was a pretty fun listen.
There is some sweet sweet payback on the final party of book one and its really satisfying.
The new narrator threw me for a loop but the new one is good as well
Recommended for fans of revenge fantasy mixed with dungeon diving
