it's just a translation

I was expecting more of a southern draw from how people were reviewing this, so I was slightly disappointed when 1) there were no Asian words for the man to mispronounce and 2)his accent wasn't a thick and drawn out mess.

it's just a simple translation, there's hardly anything to mess up with how he reads it.

Style of narration

I just didn't like the style of the narrator. I couldn't even get past the first chapter.
Please forgive me narrator. 🙏

Great translation

This is a pretty good translation of the Tao ate Ching. The narrator choice was not very good though. Although he speaks very clearly, he has a little bit of an accent that detracts from the content. If you want to hear Cowboy read an ancient Chinese philosophy, then this book is for you.

A classic, with an absurd narrator

Man with strong Texas accent reads a sacred, ancient, Asian book he can't even pronounce...
