Publisher's summary

Lily: To escape my uncle - one of New York's most dangerous mob bosses - I had to create a whole new life. I became an expert forger, fled to Texas, and never let anyone get close to me again. I didn't figure on having my life saved by a huge, muscled cowboy. He's arrogant, he's stubborn, and he's the local stud, so why is he interested in a curvy girl like me? And if he annoys me so much, why can't I stop fantasizing about him?

Bull: As soon as I saw her, I knew I had to have her. Lily had curves that didn't quit and too many goddamn secrets. Well, I was going to uncover every inch of her....

cute, sexy, eye roll

loved the background and setup. some of the cliches were absolutely eye roll worthy. I think I enjoy this writer for her ability to put fantasy into narrative.

Good read, but...

Overall this was a great book. The plot was interesting enough to hold my attention and the heroine wasn't a fainting violet. My only issue was the accent the female narrator used when she was reading Bull's lines. It was like she listened to the worst imitations of a southern accent from movies and made it worse. It was a good read, and I wouldn't have been mad about spending a credit on it if it hadn't been part of Audible plus.

Bull and Lily

A gripping, intense and steamy ride to go on. This story had a little bit of everything: suspense, intrigue, sweetness and an alpha male who tends to rescue his lady a lot. I enjoyed going on this journey with Bull and Lily.
Christian Fox and Lucy River are always outstanding. I loved listening to them bring these characters to life.

Enjoyed it

It was a fun listen. It’s hard to find books with plus size women that aren’t awful. This was great and a nice break from the size 2 heroines of most audio books :)

3.75 stars. Good listen.

This was a good listen, and I’ll probably try the others in the series. Good storyline, interesting characters, even if Bull was a little predictable.

A few things that bugged me were:
I thought the female narrator was saying “Bowl” instead of “Bull” until I heard the male narrator say it. Otherwise, I enjoyed her narration.
No one from New York says “mash” when they mean “press,” making it sound unbelievable that Lily was from New York. One mashes potatoes and presses buttons. Mashing buttons and other items is a southern grammar error.
Finally, the author used “I” when “me” would have been correct.
Even with these and other grammatical issues, it was an entertaining listen.
