Story
Nothing is trickier than the truth. All Loki the trickster god of Asgard wants is a peaceful life where he's free to stir up a bit of harmless mischief. But when he's struck by a painful vision of blood, ash, and death he knows his fun has run out. Refusing to have his life obliterated by some stuffy prophecy, Loki feels he must save Asgard. Except the gods stand in his way. They don't trust the God of Lies, which means his only hope is to return to Odin, the man he wished to forget thanks to their complicated history.

Story
Gods are forbidden in the kingdom of Middren. Formed by human desires and fed by their worship, there are countless gods in the world—but after a great war, the new king outlawed them and now pays “godkillers” to destroy any who try to rise from the shadows. As a child, Kissen saw her family murdered by a fire god. Now, she makes a living killing them and enjoys it. But all this changes when Kissen is tasked with helping a young noble girl with a god problem. The child’s soul is bonded to a tiny god of white lies, and Kissen can’t kill it without ending the girl’s life too.

Story
When Pestilence comes for Sara Burn’s town, one thing is certain: everyone she knows and loves is marked for death. Unless, of course, the angelic-looking horseman is stopped, which is exactly what Sara has in mind when she shoots the unholy beast off his steed. Too bad no one told her Pestilence can’t be killed. Now the horseman, very much alive and very pissed off, has taken her prisoner, and he’s eager to make her suffer. Only, the longer she’s with him, the more uncertain she is about his true feelings towards her, and hers towards him. And now, well, Sara might still be able to save the world, but in order to do so, she'll have to sacrifice her heart in the process.

Story
When a banished witch falls in love with the legendary trickster Loki, she risks the wrath of the gods in this moving, subversive debut novel that reimagines Norse mythology. Angrboda’s story begins where most witches' tales end: with a burning. A punishment from Odin for refusing to provide him with knowledge of the future, the fire leaves Angrboda injured and powerless, and she flees into the farthest reaches of a remote forest. There she is found by a man who reveals himself to be Loki, and her initial distrust of him transforms into a deep and abiding love.

Publisher's summary
It wasn't supposed to be like this.
It was supposed to be Loki the trickster god’s happily ever after with Sigyn. They had gone full Midgardian, settling down in California, with Loki doing what he does best—mischief.
When Sigyn collapses, Loki senses a grave darkness growing within her, and he knows only one god who may be able to stop Surtr before this sinister force possesses her completely.
Once again he finds himself forced to ask Odin for his help...which always carries with it some kind of price. However, Odin is the least of Loki’s problems, especially when buried secrets start surfacing because of brothers, both dead and alive. Blackmail is a nasty business.
Loki worries that his happily ever after with Sigyn could have an unhappy end.
Lies are unraveling, the truth is spinning, and consequences are flying faster than Loki can run and he may lose Sigyn forever—either to the darkness, or to his own lies.

Story
Much of what is known of the Norse myths comes from the 10th century onwards. Until this time and, indeed, for centuries afterwards, Norse culture (particularly that of Iceland, where the myths were eventually transcribed) was an oral culture. In fact, in all Scandinavian countries well into the 13th century laws were memorized by officials known as "Lawspeakers" who recited them at the "Thing." The Thing was the legislative assembly in Scandinavia "held for judicial purposes". One of the most famous of these Lawspeakers was the Icelander Snorri Sturluson, a masterful writer who wrote the Prose Edda in the 13th century. There are other sources for the Norse myths, namely the later "Poetic Edda", a collection of poems and prose work, and other sagas but the Snorri's Prose Edda is the most complete work whose attribution is known to modern scholars.

At the best of times, Jeremiah could be described as a vengeful man. In the worst of times, one could call him a monster. The reality, though, was that he was a monster hunter. Or that's how he liked to style himself. In a world of creatures that went bump in the night, few fought for humanity. Fewer still put humanity first. Fighting with sword, blade, or word, their numbers were insufficient. Those who did did so from places and situations that the world didn't appreciate or condone. I love this installment of the 9 Worlds Rising series so much! the narration is fantastic and really immersed me in the gut-wrenching, seemingly hopeless rescue mission on which Loki and Odin embark. Freyja is a delightful addition to the series, with her thousands of cats

So happy to continue the series!
I love that we dove deeper into Loki and Odins relationship, especially their falling out, the temptation to go back to Odin because it was “easier”, and Lokis refusal to do so. I love the tension between life and death! The ending had me in tears, but the plot twist after had me begging for more. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series!

A wonderful audio delivery of a fabulous story
I was sent an Audible code by the author, Lyra Wolf in order to review this audiobook. Thank you! My opinions are honest.
I thoroughly enjoyed the kindle version of this book back in 2022 and was excited to hear the audio version.
Sigyn has been possessed by Surtr after Ragnarok and Loki has to try and save her before he takes over completely. He needs to persuade past loves Odin and Angrboda to help him in order to succeed.
Casey Eade is once again narrating this version, as with the previous two books in this series. Once again she delivers excellent narration and voice acting. The chapters are told from the point of view of either Loki or Sigyn and Eade’s wonderful acting makes it clear and never confusing who is talking.
I love the characterisation Wolf brings to these well known figures of Norse myth. In the last book we had Fenrir as a man-bun wearing vegan who takes photos of his food for Instagram. Now we have the goddess of sex and war, Freya, portrayed as a horny, crazy cat lady. This tongue in cheek attitude towards the all-powerful gods is a joy to read or listen to.
I highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys light-hearted humour, action, mythical creatures and petty, selfish gods, all served up with a large dollop of tormented romance. What more could you possibly ask for?
