Insightful

Where does The Art of Raising a Puppy rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is not meant to be an entertaining book but an informative one. It shows you proper, effective methods of raising your puppy. This book also explains why the monks use the methods they do. It is by far the best dog training book I have ever read.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Art of Raising a Puppy?

There are many, many things to remember in this book. So much so, that it would be impossible to remember it all but if you can take even a portion of it and apply it to your own situations, you will be far ahead of the game.

Have you listened to any of Michael Wager’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not heard a Michael Wager's performance before but in this case he did a great job. A teaching type book can become boring if not presented well. He has a pleasant and animated voice.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Puppy approved!

Any additional comments?

Highly recommended book for anyone anticipating a new puppy in their home.

Very insightful but not happy with all recommendations

The narrator was great, the entire idea is definitely great but I’m not sure about the disciplining suggestions. Maybe it’s because I haven’t gotten by puppy yet.

Dog Person

I have had dogs my whole life. My family bred, raised, and showed dogs for competition and I thought I knew just about everything about raising a dog. Having read this book I realized how much I still needed to learn. My wife and I rescued an emotional troubled dog, but I read this book (twice) and use the techniques to train our dog. She is now universally loved by everyone who meets her and will sit, lie down, bark, and high-five on command. She is great with children and we couldn't imagine life without her. If you are getting a dog, READ THIS BOOK, before you buy your dog, and then again when you train your dog, and you will develop a happy and healthy relationship with your dog too.

Good, but maybe the paper copy is better

This starts with a good overview, but then goes into how-to manual mode, which is great, but not necessarily the best book to listen to, rather than read.

Wonderful first puppy book

I was looking for a good "basic" dog training book with a focus on first steps with a new puppy. This was exactly what I was looking for. The overall approach is loving, firm, and takes into account natural dog instinct.

Nice book to start with

Not enough practical advice but still nice. You get a basic idea of how to teach your dog but you dont get a full toolbox.
