The appearance of a troubled kitten named Arhu puts them at odds with a dinosaur wizard, whom the cats must defeat in order to save all of humanity. Angele Masters has an engaging timbre that appropriately recalls a cat's purr, and she creates indelible characterization of Diane Duane's protagonists with impressive voice work that varies from wise and tough to whiny and gruff, making this fantasy memorable and entertaining.

I've read and listened to this book around five times and each time I discover something new to love about it. I first found Diane Duane through her Young Wizards series, but I honestly enjoyed this even more.

Told from the perspective of a cat wizard
TWs: death, and harm to animals.
Sensitive readers note: the main characters have to deal with deaths and they are not gentle and offscreen. One primarily (but deeply) affects the main character; another is very traumatic and spelled out in detail.
Outside of those horrifying moments, this is a mostly positive and wholesome story. It's fun living inside a cat's head, and as a cat owner, I found the majority of the cat-isms to be very accurate! (with the exception that cats are partially color blind, seeing mainly blue and yellow; one can handwave the descriptions of red or green things as a special skill the wizards have, perhaps)

Interesting Story, but Slow
I got this book because I love Diane Duane's Yong Wizard series. the story moves really slowly compared to those books. The voices used for the humans vs the cats were awkward and the voices used for Kit and Nita in particular (though they were only in the story a short time) were unpleasant. Especially compared to Christina Moore's versions of them.

Loved it
Love the narrator, something about her voice reminds me of a cat. It was interesting following wizards of another species on Errantry. Cant wait to start on the next book.

An unexpected joy
I picked this book on a whim and was intrigued by the idea of magical cats in New York City. But the book took turns that only a strange dream could have and I very much enjoyed the playing out of it. I am eager to try the sequel.

Disappointed
Disappointment...I was... not sure what I was expecting...Magic + Cats? I was hoping for a fantastically funny book....nope...the story line was good...but ALLLLLL the descriptions about things, just went on and on and on to the point you forgot the story line-out! Not only with the describing of what you were looking at, but also the back ground of EVERY LITTLE THING they were doing, or looking at or discussing...went on and on... I started skipping ahead...ALOT...just to get by it...However on the plus side...the narrator did a wonderful job with all the different voices and characters!
