Still great

I read this as a child and remembered enjoying it. Now, many years later, it is still great. It took a few chapters to get into it, but the best part is the last 25% of the book. It is, strange as this sounds, a stream of consciousness inside the head of a dog. Despite how odd that sounds, the story seems modern because there is such an intensity of feeling as you see this dog striving.

Adventerous short novel

Any additional comments?

An authentic, well-loved story and exceptional performance that makes you root for Buck all the way through.

❤️LOVE IT❤️

Jack London is such a talented writer! The call of the wild is an amazing story. John Lee is the best, and I will listen to this audio book many more times.

Always a great read.

John Lee does a fantastic job at luring readers in to unlocking the full potential of Jack London's intent. Spectacular.

The Voice

Was just as great as the first time I read it. Better now as I can listen to the image, and see across the country.

So much better when not required middle school reading

I really enjoyed listening to this performance, which hardly resembled the book I was required to read 25 years ago in school. Perhaps it was helped with John Lee's silky smooth but bold performance of Jack London's words, but I was mesmerized and listened to the entire book in one sitting.

I originally picked this book as a short novel to listen to on a road trip of similar length. But I was rewarded with a fantastic story of raw nature that isn't touched by today's storybook simplicity found in books and movies such as the Revenant. Hard and pure, this rekindled my faith that humans can both appreciate and respect nature's power.

Great Book

Thoroughly enjoyed this book! It's a great read in itself but the narrator enhanced the story ten fold! Well done!
