Publisher's summary

Georgia Senator Robert Hawkins Grant, a strong contender to eventually become the first black president, is heavily favored to win reelection. But nine days before the election, a reporter covering the campaign is murdered, and Senator Grant is falsely linked to the crime.

Known for his rock-solid integrity and devotion to his family, Grant finds himself caught in a sinister web of suspicion and controversy, with mounting evidence of a plot that will not only derail his political career, but also destroy him as a person. Racing against time to prove his innocence and find the real killer, he follows a trail of clues that lead him from Georgia to the backrooms and corridors of power in Washington, D.C.

Next Time I'll Get the Unabridged Version

The summary of this audio-book made it sound intriguing to me. I was very disappointed. I bought it with the idea it was a Christian mystery. There was not one mention of God, Christ or anything vaguely Christian. The on-line summary was more interesting than the whole book. The story seemed too contrived and incomplete. Well, I realized it was because it was the abridged version. I borrowed the original book from the church library and what a difference! It's actually captivating. I wonder if the authors know what the abridgement has done to their story? It ruined it. Just pass this audibook on by.
