Publisher's summary

Rob Matheson's a fighter. Flattening enemies with his fists or with his legendary practical jokes, he's a tough enemy, and a troublesome friend. But Rob doesn't know how much longer he can keep up the act. As his buddies get married one by one, he's left with his lonely life - and the sinking feeling he lost more than his dreams when he traded them for a thick skin. Now Rob's father has issued a challenge - he'll give 200 acres of prime Montana ranchland to the first of his four sons to wed. No conditions, no meddling. Could this be a chance to become the man he really wants to be?

Morgan Tate's worked for years to climb the ladder to a top job at Cassidy Wineries, but Duncan Cassidy, the boss' son, always stands in her way. Now he's issued an ultimatum; marry him or he'll make sure she never works in the wine industry again. Morgan wants marriage - and a family - but not with Duncan. A certain cowboy in Chance Creek, Montana, has stolen her heart.

When Rob offers Morgan a proposition - marry him and split the land - they both find themselves with an ethical dilemma. They don't know each other well enough to wed, but they can't lie about their intentions before God and man, either. Now they've got sixty days to fall in love, and a passel of family and friends determined to keep them apart. The victims of Rob's previous jokes are lining up to get their revenge, and Morgan's half-sister, Claire, is stirring up their mother's past.

Will it take the biggest practical joke of all to convince the world - and themselves - that they're truly meant to be man and wife?

When an obnoxious character meets his match!!!!

Would you listen to The Cowboy Imports a Bride again? Why?

I love the woman who reads the books. She has a way of interpreting the book just as Cora Seton writes them with humor and just enough snarkiness.

What other book might you compare The Cowboy Imports a Bride to and why?

All of Cora Setons books I have read so far are wonderful. She has given us a universe that has amazing characters and each one is different form the other. It's really hard to predict what will happen next. I hate predictable books.

What about Amy Rubinate’s performance did you like?

AMAZING!!! She is one of my all time favorite performers.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I had a few tears and I laughed quite a bit.

Any additional comments?

My next book in the queue is The Sheriff Catches a Bride. Then I have to wait for my monthly books to get the next one. Unless I just get it on Kindle. We will see.

Another Great Cowboy Story by Cora Seton!

Would you listen to The Cowboy Imports a Bride again? Why?

I loved the plot, characters and how everything came together. I liked the fact that all through this story Rob and Morgan were a united front no matter what came their way. It wasn't like the other stories where the female moaned about everything she didn't like and didn't doing anything about changing it except making the situation worse. Also I get tired of the story lines where all through the story the H&H are "fighting" their feelings and aren't always on the same page. These two were just the opposite and I loved that!

What other book might you compare The Cowboy Imports a Bride to and why?

These stories are a lot like Lori Wilde's small town series.

Which character – as performed by Amy Rubinate – was your favorite?

I still like Ethan. He is the rock in the family and the voice of reason. However, he can stand his ground when he needs to. I liked Rob in this book because he finally "grew up" and stood up for who he was and the woman he loved.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The scene where Holt offered to walk Morgan down the isle and made the comment about if he was up to it he would go kick her father's a$$ because he should have been there on her wedding day.I still don't like Claire's character but I'm glad she finally offered to give Ethan some of the money he had to give her back because if he had to take on her parent's debt then Claire should have helped out as well. It shouldn't have been all of Ethan's load to take care of.

Any additional comments?

I am really enjoying this series very much and can't wait to start on the next one!

A refreshing love story

Rob and Morgan don't follow the norm. They talk, choose and support each other instead of keeping secrets.

Cowboys of Chance Creek

This is the 3rd in the Cowboys of Chance Creek. It is easily read as a standalone book. A light steamy afternoon read. The audible version is well done. Rob's story is a little slower paced than the previous stories in the series but enjoyable.

Taking a real chance at love.

Practical joker Rob takes a chance at a dream future in an unorthodox marriage proposal, only this time it's no joke.

Returned book

Any additional comments?

I returned this book because I purchased it in error. Unfortunately, the Audible edition was not returned and I was charged for it. I don't have an Audible subscription and don't intend to purchase one. I know it's only $1.99, but it's irritating that I'm being charged for an item I thought had been cancelled.
