Not the housemaid

It took a while to get into, and at times I thought the treatment of the main character was horrible. It did seem like Natalie was trying to kind, but really just didn’t have it in her in so many ways. My main complaint was that Natalie and Dawn started to sound a lot alike towards end. Was curious is the narrator pronounced A as long sound in purpose to reflect character, or not. Otherwise it really distracted me.

Narrator isn’t great

The story itself was ok…the end was the best part. Definitely not Freida’s best.

Quirky characters

I was not a fan of this story line, especially the unlikable character Dawn and her turtle obsession. It did have an interesting twist at the end however.

Her best book yet

I liked everything about this book, different from her normal bit better characters and better twists

There isn't anything wrong with the book, but it was very flat and one dimensional. The narration was ok, I've heard worse. The characters were very very flat and the storyline as well.

I love Freida McFadden’s books and this is no exception!

I don’t know if it’s because I love Freida McFadden that I can’t wait for her books to be released. This is another five star listen.
I think the narrator is great for the part.
On a more serious note, it’s a compassionate look into the lives of people with disabilities. Especially the type of mental/emotional disabilities that aren’t obvious at first glance.
She has an amazing sense of humor in her writing.

Some nice twists

This book feels almost like it was rushed to print. I never settled on anyone to root for and I didn’t identify with any of the characters or relationships. It all seemed a bit shallow and disjointed. In my opinion, the book needed more work before publication.

Great story!

This was a great book. I really enjoyed the twists and the storyline was interesting and enjoyable to listen to.

I've read a few of her books, and this one just didn't hit like the others did.

Good read!

I liked this book a lot! Kept me super entertained on a road trip. Only took off a star because I hated all the characters, but I think that was the point.
