Publisher's summary

When a personal trainer agrees to fake date her client, all rules are out the window in this delightful romantic comedy from the USA Today best-selling author of The Boyfriend Project!

When it comes to personal training, Taylor Powell kicks serious butt. Unfortunately, her bills are piling up, rent is due, and the money situation is dire. Taylor needs more than the support of her new best friends, Samiah and London. She needs a miracle.

And Jamar Dixon might just be it. The oh-so-fine former footballer wants back into the NFL, and he wants Taylor to train him. There's just one catch - no one can know what they're doing. But when they're accidentally outed as a couple, Taylor's game plan is turned completely upside down. Is Jamar just playing to win...or is he playing for keeps?

The Dating Playbook

I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in Dating, but is scared or been hurt in the past. This book gives hope to those who never dated before as well. The Dating Playbook had me believing in love again! I really appreciated the Author’s writing skills to the point that I have read the book twice already! Great Read!!!

Cute Story

This story was cute and fun. I found myself laughing a lot at Jamar's corny jokes.... The premise of the story is great. Taylor is a personal trainer tasked with training Jamar so that he can get back into the NFL after a knee injury. I was hooked into the story as to whether or not he would be able to return. But this turned into a beautifully told fake dating story.

Both characters explore some serious issues and it is handled in a great way. This was the first book I read in the series so I am excited to read the others.

I will say as far of the performance... I think Rebecca Lee did an excellent job but I think it would have benefitted from a male voice actor doing the part of Jamar. Overall 5 stars

A good series - enjoyable!

I quite enjoyed the first book in this series, The Boyfriend Project. This is the second, even though it's not indicated to be in a series, and it definitely should be! There are multiple (many, many, many) scenes where the 3 characters that met in the first book (the three girls), get together and things that happened in book 1 are discussed. Definitely a series, and would be very helpful to indicate it as such, and read them in order.

Book 2 is about Taylor, who comes from a military background family and as such, enjoys bootcamp type fitness programs, so she started her own, Taylored Conditioning. A former NFL player, Jamar, who is recovering from an injury seeks her out after he sees the viral video from book 1 (see - definitely a series and should be read in order!), and watches her training videos online. He figures she would be the perfect trainer to get him back in shape to return to playing. The problem? The meet, start training, and catch feelings... But they both understand the issues if it was discovered that they were a couple and training together. So they devise the Dating Playbook, and while she is training him in secret, they are fake dating for the public eye. He doesn't want anyone to know he is attempting to return to the NFL quite yet, and she doesn't want anyone to know she is actually seeing a client... been there, done that, and it didn't end well. Oh, and her family keeps trying to convince her to do any other job... and she's trying to figure out how to go back to school while realizing she has a learning disability.

Farrah Rochon is a new-to-me author this year and I quite enjoy the witty banter, fun-loving characters and enjoyable scenarios she creates. I really enjoyed these two books and do recommend them (but read in order)! I look forward to the third girlfriend's book, London. I hope it comes out soon!

Fun and realistic

Loved it. Made me laugh out loud. loved the fact that a learning disability is written in the story as something usual, that needs assistance as soon as possible.

Loved it!

This is part 2 of the 3 part series and I loved this one as well. I'm a sucker for a good romance novel so if you're not, don't read this series. I love how all these men were able to get to the source of why they would go for a guy like Craig. These women low-key had issues that we all have that could make us choose a crappy guy. I'm glad they were able to not only build a sisterhood but at the end, they all experienced love from a man that was well deserved. These men treated all 3 women like the queens they are and I loved it.
