Another excellent entry

Rosamund Pike once again excels at bringing this story to life in an engaging and exciting way. Her storytelling prowess is unmatched and makes it hard to turn off. An absolute can’t miss!

Best Narration Ever!

It’s hard to explain the value of narration in an audiobook. It can elevate the authors, writing to transcendental levels, or plunge it into the abyss.

I don’t believe that the wheel of Time series would be nearly as good, as an audiobook, if it wasn’t for the outstanding narration of Rosamund Pike!

The series is a must read for any aficionado, a fantasy, world building, in the same vain, as Lord of the Rings. As an audiobook, I highly recommend that have been narrated by Pike!

Rosemund truly makes these books wonderful to listen to

These books are already fantastic, but I am very happy to be hearing them for the first time with Rosamund telling the story. She does a wonderful job with pacing, inflection, tone and emotion while speaking the story of these characters. And her ability to take on so many different voices and accents to differentiate each character is quite incredible. (My favorite is Loial; his gentle lumbering voice is the perfect match to such a lovable, warm character.) I’ve enjoyed every moment; I hope she narrates more books in the future, and I can’t wait for every single Wheel of Time installment.

New passion for an old love

I took pmy time with this book, even though I prepurchased it. Like savouring a favorite dessert or slowly wrapping ones hands around a warm cup of tea in winter, I enjoyed every moment, every sensation, every emotion it made me feel. Rosamund Pike is such a good narrator. I read this book decades ago, and I could not imagine a better guide for me, leading me on roads that I have forgotten in the years between traveling them. I really hope she continues to read the series. I will not be satisfied with less.

On the book, I had always remembered it fondly
I think, apart from Shadow Rising it is one of my favorites. It is such a joy to be back in this world.

Brilliant narration, engaging story

Rosamund Pike gives an absolutely shining performance narrating this book. She has a lovely voice, but her gift is the way she absolutely inhabits the characters. (I love the way she performs Mat.) After hearing her narration, I cannot listen to anyone else read this series. (Somehow I missed her version of the first two books. Might have to go back to them.)

This is my first time through the WOT series, and I actually downloaded the next book before returning it when I realized it wasn’t her. I will wait, but I hope they pick up the pace or it may take ten years to finish the series!

I had heard the story starts to bog down after the first couple books, but I found this one to be interesting and that it kept the story moving. I would love a whole series on just the girls attending the Aes Sendai school. There’s more books ahead, so maybe we will get more of that.

Anyway, don’t sleep on Rosamund Pike’s narration!

Masterful, compelling, immersive

An utterly spectacular performance by Rosamund Pike! Her performance (calling it a narrative would not do it justice) of so many different character voices across the entire 26+ hours was completely mind blowing. The way she pushes certain scenes (eg intense battles) makes you sit down and close your eyes because you are transported into Robert Jordan’s vibrant world through her voice. I really hope she’d narrate the rest of the series. She deserves an Oscar for this brilliant body of work. You can tell this is a labor of love where hyper-attention to detail and a desire to bring feeling into author’s deliberate word choices were carefully considered and delivered. This is what art is all about. She sets the bar high!

Amazing

Amazing book as expected. Rosamund Pile is so good I hope she does more of these

Yay! Rosamund Pike is back!

As with the last book, Rosamund Pike’s performance is outstanding! My only complaint, which is too strong a word really, is that sometimes the volume is too loud. But that’s not her fault—I love her passionate portrayal and range of emotion she conveys. I don’t know if it’s possible for the sound engineers (or whatever the right title is) to adjust for consistent volume, but even if not, I will continue listening to as many of the books that she performs. Fingers crossed that she keeps doing them!

Outstanding Narration and Story

Rosamund is one of the best narrators I have had the pleasure of listening to!! I’m not sure I can go on either these stores without her. I will try because they are good too.
