the book was dry in some places. the biggest drawback for was the narrator. the was times where I had to turn the volume WAY up just to make out what he was saying.

Great Story, Great Performance

What made the experience of listening to The Evan Gabriel Omnibus the most enjoyable?

Ray Chase is a great narrator!

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Evan Gabriel Omnibus?

One of the most memorable moments of The Evan Gabriel Omnibus is when the Eden Mission. This mission tests the team's moral and perseverance, but ends with satisfying justice!

What does Ray Chase bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

An awesome voice! While the story can be cliche at times, Ray does a great job of getting a listener into characters.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I really like this story. It shows the evolution of a man down on his luck, just trying to forget the past, to a confident Commander of a highly trained military squad.

Forgetable but inoffensive Sci-Fi

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Not really? It's hard to find any actual flaws with the writing when it's difficult to remember anything beyond the most basic aspects of the plot.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Something with more substance ideally. Very unlikely that I will pick up anything by Steve Umstead in the future. Assuming that he writes more.

Have you listened to any of Ray Chase’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Ray Chase is probably the only reason that I finished this title. His performance is as good as it usually is.

Did The Evan Gabriel Omnibus inspire you to do anything?

Not in the slightest. "The Evan Gabriel" series is bland to the point that I had to go back several chapters to remember what I was supposed to be caring about in the story each time I picked it back up.

Is the narrator high?

It took me a long time to get through this audio book because the narrator makes all the characters sound like they're high. The story is good but the narration really tanks it.

Entertaining

These books were in fact entertaining however not very believable. The jams the team were in just happened to be resolved in their favor every time. I think not. I know this is science fiction, but for an augmentation to the tech that is throughout the book to kick in just in time to save the main character is very cheesy.

It's OK but there are issues

The narrator is ok, but the main character has problems. He demonstrates his combat prowess by walking dick first into ambush after ambush and surviving. Sure he comes across as compitent under pressure but the books never adress why he is so incompetent that he gets into these situations in the first place.
