Publisher's summary

Emmy Award-winning actress Tatiana Maslany narrates a brand-new special edition recording of the first audiobook in the worldwide best-selling trilogy from Suzanne Collins!

In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by 12 outlying districts. The Capitol keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.

Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen regards it as a death sentence when she steps forward to take her sister's place in the Games. But Katniss has been close to death before - and survival, for her, is second nature. Still, if she is to win, she will have to start making choices that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

This special edition audiobook includes a bonus track Q&A with Tatiana Maslany!

The spirited (but friendly) debate over these titles could have gone on indefinitely. With years of listening, countless customer reviews, and a catalog of seemingly infinite great listens, 100 suddenly felt like a very small number. What we know for sure—each title that made it to this collection is elevated and made special in some way by audio, whether by a layered performance from a single narrator, a brilliantly cohesive full cast, original music, or immersive sound effects. Discover an audio experience for the ages.

Editor's Pick

FWIW, I’m team Peeta Tatiana
"Somebody give Tatiana Maslany all the awards. The youthful yet somber quality to her voice makes her a natural Katniss, breathing new life into Panem. I devoured Maslany’s new recordings this summer, but I have to admit there’s something very different about listening to The Hunger Games as a 31-year-old mom vs. listening to it as a teenager myself. I cried from the first chapter onward, but it’s just a testament to the compelling nature of Collins’s dystopian modern classic. "

Finally a narrator that isn't annoying!

Its about time! Finally, someone has realized that having a good narrator is key to selling an audio book! I really hope that they release the rest of the series using Tatiana Maslany. She is absolutely what this book needed!

A joy to indulge

The book itself is thrilling and very visually descriptive, and Tatiana reads it so well with excellent emotional conveyance. This should not be passed up.

Tatiana Maslany IS Katniss

This recording is an absolutely brilliant revamp -- Tatiana Maslany perfectly captures the alternating stoicism and vulnerability of Katniss, shifting gears seemingly effortlessly, with a rough texture to her voice that feels authentic to the character. Her voices for the other characters are excellent, as well -- especially for Rue, where she captures the shy innocence along with the intelligence that makes Rue a pivotal part of the story. Her imagining of Effie Trinket, obviously influenced by Elizabeth Banks's film performance, gives a lilting, fun aspect to Effie's oblivious but well-meaning contributions. An absolute must-have for any Hunger Games fan.

Very entertaining.

Great read. The narrator Maslany does a wonderful job. She is Catnis plain and simple.

I am now forced to read the next book...and can’t wait. I haven’t seen the movies yet and can’t wait but will until I get through al three books.

Tatiana Maslany is a hero

Thank you for saving one of my favorite book series! I couldn't enjoy the story when listening to the standard edition because of the narrator.
I hope Tatiana will narrate the next two books!

Amazing version of this book!

This narration is amazing. Tatiana Maslany nailed it. I hope she will also do the other ones now. Really love her voice for this.

I am a huge Hunger Games fan but this version really added to my experience of the story.

Love the book don’t love the reader

I love the hunger games books but I think Tatiana ruins them with her voices for the characters. She makes Peeta sound like a dufus when he is actually a smart, kind and supportive character in the story. I mean why does she have to make him sound like that it just ruins the book for me. If there is a really serious or heart felt moment in the book when Peeta speaks it ruins it for the listeners.
