A good book

If you could sum up The Husband Trap in three words, what would they be?

Well written book.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Violet...she was a well defined character. However, at times her actions were a bit unbelievable.

What about Bianca Amato’s performance did you like?

Ms. Amato's reading was great. The various characters' voices were easy to identify and she drew you in to the story.

Who was the most memorable character of The Husband Trap and why?

Again, it was Violet. Her emotional growth and kindness was apparent as the story moved forward. You couldn't help but like her.

Not the usual

I won’t spoil this story, although you’ll recognize the premise almost immediately. I almost stopped reading, thinking it would be predictable. I did decide to go on and I’m delighted that I did. Lots of twists and unexpected story lines. I can happily give it highest marks.

What a unique telling of an old twist

Full disclosure, I have 4 more chapters to listen to but I am already so moved by a story I expected to be predictable that those 4 chapters need to really be bad for me to give a bad review. I LOVE this couple. I REALLY want a HEA for them, just not sure they will pull it off. I agree with one reviewer that I may not listen to book two and skip straight to book 3. So mad at the spoiled twin sister that I’m not sure I want to know here story. Yes, I’m that invested.

Super cute story.

Where does The Husband Trap rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

The romance was believable. She clearly defined the character's personalities. Yes, the heroine made several uber predictable mistakes, but HELLO this is a historical romance. You're not getting Shakespeare. If you like historical romance with good sex scenes you will like this book. It is NOT like a Georgette Hyer book. Yes, the cover looks all sweet, but she goes into some decently descriptive scenes. Personally, I like my romances hot and my heroes dashing. This book fulfills.

What other book might you compare The Husband Trap to and why?

I would compare a lot of the romance scenes to Lisa Kleypass.

What does Bianca Amato bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She did a nice job with the voices. I like a reader to be non-distracting. She doesn't have to act out the whole book.

If you could rename The Husband Trap, what would you call it?

The title fits. If you've seen the parent trap etc..you get the jest of the book.

takes a minute but hang in there

What did you like best about this story?

Once you got past the first hour you get sucked in. I really enjoyed the historical aspect of this book and have now purchased the other two in the series. I did want to yell at Violet! she never does what makes sense and makes matters worse. It is a easy listen and enjoyable if you like period books.

Pretty Good!

This book was decent, the story line was intriguing, the character development was good, and it held my attention. The series as a whole is a good listen.

Decent

I think I got this book on sale and it was worth it. I don't think I would spend a credit on it or pay the regular price, though. It has an interesting story line that is somewhat unique with the twins changing places. There is quite a bit of drama towards the end, but the middle is a little boring. My main issue with the book is how the Duke treats Violet on several occasions and she just forgives him. It may be the historical aspect where women didn't have a lot of options, but it just rubs me the wrong way.

It is enjoyable overall and the narrator did a very good job.

This was a really good book...

Would you consider the audio edition of The Husband Trap to be better than the print version?

I didn't read the printed version of the book, but the audio version was phenomenal.

What other book might you compare The Husband Trap to and why?

I don't have any comparisons.

What does Bianca Amato bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Life. I was really impressed with the range of emotion and presentation she exuded in each character. She gave them a distinction that was all there own. She added vitality to every scene and I was never bored, I clung to her every word.

If you could take any character from The Husband Trap out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Adrian, of course. He's a thinker. I liked the fact that he was came to his own conclusions.

Any additional comments?

I was extremely surprised at how well written the whole ensemble was portrayed. I normally stick to a certain type of romance novel (Highland romance), but I decided to try something different and I was very pleased. I could not put the book down.
