About this listen

BANGKOK, MARCH 2018. The world looked on in horror as millions of innocent lives were snuffed out in a matter of hours. Countless men, women and children slaughtered without mercy, torn apart by a violent mob that attacked without reason, motive or warning.

Tom Freeman witnessed the aftermath. He reported on the tragedy and looked into the eyes of the sole survivor, an old friend, and what he saw looking back sent him running home to the United States. Back to safety. Back to a place where the world made sense, and the putrid stink of the dead didn't haunt his nightmares...Turns out he didn't run quickly enough. They're coming.

Remain indoors...Gather supplies...Find a weapon...The zombies are here, and they're hungry.

This is the Last Man Standing trilogy, complete, unabridged and collected for the first time in a single volume. From the author of the internationally bestselling This Is the Way the World Ends: An Oral History of the Zombie War.

this was pretty good . missed the one character when it was their time . it's a fun ride.

ehh think somebody said they gave it up when they made a wise crack about Republicans? they made wise crack in the same breath about Democrats too in the same breath lol . Both well deserved and well placed.

The new author delightful

The humor of the story and twists on the undead. I like that V kicked ass and survived. There are happily ever after if there can be endings

Just right

I agree with another reviewer that the length of this box set was just right. It was not too long, which can end up with me being bored with repetition and angst over hard time after hard time. Also, it was long enough that this story could be completed satisfactorily. There were some angst in the book, but not overly so. I like the characters, particularly the protagonist and his friend Bishop,. I think the writer is quite talented and is a great story teller. The narrator does the book credit. He is excellent.

ALL AROUND WINNER

Some zombie series are too short and some zombie series are too long. This one happens to be just right for me. The outbreak scenario and the characters are believable and the story is long enough to give you time to get to know the characters and either like or hate them. but it's not so long that an unending series of calamities becomes tiresome. it's also very nice to have a story that comes to a conclusion without having to wait years and years for it.

So, overall, the story is great and intriguing and Matthew crowe's performance is superb as usual.

ick this one up, you won't be sorry.

Characters are just to dumb and timing for event is terrible

Performance is nice story is overall ok a couple of decent ideas and thoughts but characters spend forever thinking about stuff while pertinent things are happening and MC is just too dumb to believe he spent time interviewing people on the out break on and has less basic understanding of reality than the average human i get the people are stupid angle but it gets annoying and book two just affirms writer is a limp wristed soy boy kinda like how the mountain man series went to shit mc is useless but strong female has got it all.

Creative! Unique pill

Creative, intriguing and scary. Great characters, really hate that my favorite died so dang sad. This one really shows some of the worst sides of humanity as well but really believable. Loving this somewhat new to me narrator. Very well done all around!

Borrowed a little bit of everything. It works :)

Enjoyable pulp.
Likable characters, a lot of the story seems like it’s been done before, but I don’t care. This would have been a better movie than the WWZ that we got.

humankind ability to persevere and overcome adversity in the plight of the unimaginable

I loved this story even though it was a tragedy of epic proportions. People moved forward and did the unimaginable to battle the circumstances out of their control with just the smallest hope that they could make a difference. I love the unconcured human spirit to try....great story..looking forward to many more epic stories thank you.

Funny, engaging, with a creative zombie twist

The series is an entertaining listen, blending humor with heartfelt moments for an easy and enjoyable experience. While the narrator is competent, the lack of distinct voices for characters may cause slight confusion sometimes. However, this doesn’t detract from the overall charm of the story. The unique twist on the zombie genre keeps things fresh, and the balance of comedic and emotional beats makes it engaging throughout. At times, it felt a bit short, but its brevity also kept it from overstaying its welcome. A solid choice for a light, fun distraction worth a credit.
