Love Amelia & Rick!

I find myself at a disadvantage LOL (but in a fun way), as I started out with the LAST book in the series! :) :)
However, I still LOVED IT! So good! Now I'm going to have to go back and listen to all others, and this one again at the end.

Such a fun and easy listen, perfect for my loooong commute :)
Loved the story, Linda did a beautiful job. Amelia & Rick are great characters! The great narration by Diane Lehman really brought a great story to life.

I was interested from beginning to end, as Amelia & Rick investigated a mystery surrounding the death of Rick's uncle. A good swimmer should not just drown. Get to know this duo as they work to uncover the truth.

I've always liked lighthouses, so this story was especially cool. I'm anxious to discover more and listen to other books in the series.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Another great cozy!

Each time I listen to a book in this series, I think it can't top the last one. But Linda Weaver Clarke, with her magic and characters of Amelia and Rick keep me entertained from start to finish. This story takes us on a personal journey to find Rick's uncle who went missing five years earlier. Though he was presumed dead, there was never a body found. In true Amelia Moore fashion, this couple digs into the investigation only to find that others are looking for him too. Who will find him first? And is he still alive? The history of lighthouses in this story had me fully engrossed, as I found it really interesting. I love when an author includes information like this, it makes the story that much more plausible. I also love the adventures that Rick and Amelia get to take. A houseboat for a while, a friend with a plane, there is no end to their network and places to go to. This like the others is a must listen and you will not be disappointed.

The continuity of the same narrator makes this series that much more enjoyable. Diane Lehman provides such great voices for Amelia and Rick, right down to Rick's singing. She makes the story come to life.

Another great cozy mystery!

What did you love best about The Lighthouse Secret?

I really liked the interesting facts I learned about lighthouses.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I liked meeting Rick's family. They were fun and added another dimension to the characters.

Any additional comments?

I was a little discouraged this time that Amelia was portrayed as smart in some things (figuring out the clues), yet so naive in her other areas. It seemed incongruous for her character. But even with that being said, I loved the story and found it as delightful as the rest of the series. Diane Lehman did a wonderful job with the narration. I hope Linda Weaver Clarke will do another cozy mystery series. She has a great mind for mystery!

An entertaining series.

Have you listened to any of Diane Lehman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, I've listened to the whole series and enjoyed her narration throughout.
I enjoyed meeting Rick's family in this book and all the teasing and banter that went on when he was with his family. I also enjoyed the mystery of his missing and presumed dead uncle; although I wasn't quite sure why Rick simply wondering what really happened as it didn't really sound like something Rick would leave unsolved. Not only that but he has unfettered access to a detective agency! Luckily it only takes a brief conversation with Amelia for the pair to set off in search for answers.
I liked the back story surrounding his uncle's disappearance. I thought it was both realistic and it had a romantic angle. It was an intriguing mystery and I enjoyed following the couple on their investigation.

I am quite sad that this is the final book in the series. I am not ready to say goodbye to Rick and Amelia just yet so no doubt I will be revisiting them from the beginning sometime soon.

Great Mystery!

This Audible version of Linda Weaver Clarke's book was wonderful! I love her narrator, Diane Lehman. She is so full of expression and very talented! I loved listening to someone "tell me a story". I could listen as I drove to and from work and as I commuted on the train and even while fixing dinner. It's a great way to "multi-task".

I loved Linda's book! It's a great cozy mystery and for me it was awesome because she always writes about places that I know. This time her book took me to my old home in California, Palm Springs, and as she described it, I could totally visualize it! Then they were headed to Ventura Harbor. I used to live in Ojai which is very close by and trips to the beach in Ventura were a remembrance of years past for me!

But aside from this, the book held my attention to the very end. My only disappointment was that this is book 7 and will be the last of this series. I loved this clean romance and the resolution to the mystery. I look forward to reading other books from this great author.

I received an Audible version of this book from the author for my honest review, which I have given. All thoughts are my own.

4.5 Star Review The Lighthouse Secret (Amelia Moore Detective Series #7) by Linda Weaver Clarke

I listened to this book on audible and was invested right from the start, The narrator did a good job with all the voices which made for an enjoyable listen.

This was a a book filled with secrets and lies. The intrigue and suspense, not to mention the danger kept me on the edge of my seat as I listened to this story and is a good romantic suspense story..

I liked the main characters of Rick and Amelia and to me they were perfect for one another. There were many twists, turns and surprises in The Lighthouse Secret as Amelia and Rick follow the clues and I have to say that I was taken by surprise on a couple of occasions.

It's No "Secret" - A Great Cozy Mystery!

Any additional comments?

Linda Weaver Clarke has done it again! "The Lighthouse Secret", her seventh and final book in the clean and cozy Amelia Moore detective series, crafts an intriguing mystery combined with a satisfying romance and a dreamy setting for a completely satisfying experience.

For the mystery, the plot is one that draws you right in. It centers around Amelia and Rick, who are now married, as they investigate the death Rick's uncle five years earlier. Although his body was never found, he allegedly he drowned, despite being a good swimmer. The plot thickens when they not only find out that the uncle's best friend, who was with him, disappeared shortly after it happened, but that there is also someone else investigation the uncle's disappearance. The author is expert at weaving intricate, believable plots.

The characters are well-defined and the progress of their relationship is charming and realistic. The supporting characters are also very well done. Likewise, the author's mastery of setting really stand out in this book; yes, the descriptions are wonderful but also it is as if the lighthouse is a character, too, filled with personality, presence and a unique way of shining a "light" on the mystery. The author captures the mystique, beauty, mystery and allure of lighthouses. The narration by Diane Lehman, is smooth and she is adept at giving unique vocal qualities to each character. A totally terrific book!

I received an Audible audio version of "The Lighthouse Secret" in exchange for an honest review.

The Lighthouse Secret

Linda does it again - this one is just as packed with good clean fun as the others. A nice little mystery and a sweet little romance rolled into one book.

Let me start by saying that I love the cover on this one! My favorite cover of this series so far. I love lighthouses and have been to several on the east coast and the Great Lakes so this story had great interest for me. I like the way the author keeps a lot of the same themes going through the whole series. Like their bucket list, they talk about it and add to it in every book. Staying overnight in a lighthouse B&B is definitely on my bucket list. Another theme that continues is Rick's passion for food! This is hilarious and very sweet. I am a vegetarian and I love good healthy food, so I share his passion, but not always the same foods LOL.

Another continuing theme is Rick's little mystery within the book that he is working on by himself. I really liked this one and got so "into it" that I almost forgot about the big mystery! When he solved his little case and the book continued - I thought "Oh yeah! The book's not over!" LOL
The actual mystery that this book was about was great as well - I really had no idea what had happened right up until the end.

Another part of this book that I really liked was the 50's style restaurant and Amelia dressing up, what fun! For my "Sweet 16th" birthday party I had a 50's party and everyone dressed up. It was great!

Audio Review - Well I have to say that this reader is finally growing on me! I didn't like her at first but I don't now if she is getting better or I am just getting used to her, but I like her now!

Can Amelia and Rick find Uncle Antonio?

The Lighthouse Secret is Book 7 in the Amelia Moore Detective Series by Linda Weaver Clark. I thought book 7 was so good. Newly married Amelia and Rick are on a case that is close to Rick's heart, finding his Uncle Antonio. Linda Weaver Clark tackles a very difficult problem, domestic abuse and violence. I felt that the story was powerful and at the same time gives hope for a way out of the abuse. This is even more difficult when a child is involved. I think this story is outstanding! Diane Lehman is wonderful in bringing this story to life.

Enjoyable and ultra-clean cozy mystery

I think this book may be one of my favorite in the Amelia Moore series. Lighthouses fascinate me and it is my ultimate fantasy to live in one. I think that is why this book appealed to me so much. I thought the story was well-thought-out, and it was interesting to meet Rick's family in this book. I appreciate that this is a family-friendly book (no sex scenes or bad language), but sometimes the romance seems a little "too-sweet" and the characters feel a little hard to relate to. It is still a very enjoyable book, and its fun to read about Amelia's "old-timey" movies that she likes to watch and share with Rick. Each novel can stand on its own, but I have enjoyed reading about the progression of Rick and Amelia's relationship throughout the series. I listened to the Audible audio version of the book, which I received in exchange for an honest opinion. The narrator, Diane Lehman, does a good job giving unique voices to each of the characters. If you like ultra-clean, cozy mysteries, this book (and the entire series) is a great choice.
