About this listen

She tried to kill him, so he made her his wife.

Skadi first met her husband-to-be with blades in hand on the opposite side of a battle. She lost, and he claimed his prize.

To her horror, the king of the shadow elven agrees to marry her off to Jonas, a prince in the fae realms, as a way to unite their kingdoms against a shared enemy—the light elves. Skadi knows the marriage is nothing but a political game. Feelings won't come into play.

Except her new husband makes not falling in love... challenging.

When new threats arise, Skadi must decide either to love her enemy or keep him alive by betraying him to another.

Welcome to another installment in the Ever Seas world where pirates, fae, and elves collide with Vikings in a dark fantasy romance between a morally gray cinnamon roll and the broken princess who steals his heart. This has a guaranteed HEA and is set in the same world as the bestselling Broken Kingdoms series. While it stands alone, it's best enjoyed after listening to The Ever King and The Ever Queen.

Favorite of the series!

I loved Broken Kingdoms and the Ever Seas series, but this story is my favorite out of all of them! Great banter, more spice than all the rest, and the addition of elven with different magics was refreshing and so good. I also really loved having all of the original Beoken Kimgdoms characters mentioned and some integrated in the story. 11/10 would recommend!

That cliffhanger at the end though! I hope this means we're not done with this world just yet. ❤️

Stole My Heart

I have read quite a few enemies to lovers trope books and this one is now officially my favorite. Skardi & Jonas are my absolute favorite couple of all the series LJ Andrews has written. From Rake to Loving Husband and Broken and abused to fearless empowered wife. A hint of Beauty and the beast but more beast in both of them a perfect balance for each other. I can't wait for the next one. As always the voice actors were incredible 10/10 recommend this book :)

More please

The story is more focused on found family, and political intrigue. a nice palette cleanser from the ever king and queen, but more of the same faces.

Should be a stand alone series

I enjoy LJ Andrews. This one didn't hit as high on my list. You truly have to get through the broken kingdom series, to fully appreciate the Ever King and this book. This book could have been its own series. I always enjoy her lover romances but this one focused more on the romance and less about the battles that I enjoy from the books. But, If you're looking for romance this one will definitely hit that mark.
If you finished Broken Kingdom and Ever King you'll understand when I tell you the " Kingdom of Nightmares" would have been way better, Story could have been it's own series with a stronger battle.

Narration was great, the characters voices are easy to follow.

Love story more then fantasy

This was manly the love story of Jacob. It was good but not a fantasy book anymore. I’m interest in seeing the other characters stories but will reset my expectations.

Character change but still really good.

I think this book is the most humorous of the series so far. Jonas' and Skadi's chemistry is on fire from the beginning. They have really good banter from the start and they end up becoming a formidable team. I can't wait until the next book is released!
You see what or who will star in the next book at the end of this one. :)
