Resumen del Editor

Ryan: I'm the newest Captain of the Devils, Chicago's NBA team, and the last thing I needed this year was for Indy Ivers, my sister's best friend, to move into my apartment. She's messy, emotional, and way too tempting.

But when the team's General Manager vocalizes his blatant disapproval of my promotion to Captain, referring to me as an unapproachable lone wolf with no work-life balance, I can't think of a better way to convince him otherwise than pretending to date my outgoing roommate. The only problem? Faking it feels far too natural.

Indy: I never imagined I'd be living with my best friend's brother, NBA superstar Ryan Shay. Even more unbelievable? He needs me to act as his loving girlfriend who's suddenly changed him into a friendly and approachable guy.

Soon blurred lines make it almost impossible to separate real from fake. Falling for my roommate was never part of the deal, especially when Ryan is quick to remind me that he doesn't believe in love.

I'm a romantic and can't help fantasizing that he'll change, but soon enough, I find myself questioning if sharing a roof with my best friend's brother was the right move after all.

Contains mature themes.

Annoying narration

The story was good for 80% of it. But the final “crisis” was kinda dumb. And both narrators were horrible with opposite gender main characters and side characters.

Such a pleasure to read

This author knows how to make the perfect men. The characters were so well developed, and I’m glad we were able to see the characters from the last book

Beautiful and spicy

The damaged and complicated leading men, the strong and determined yet vulnerable leading ladies, the found family dynamic and all the amazing athletes interconnecting, the layered and soulful chemistry she creates, the delicious drama and swoony moments and ALL THE SPICE! I binged the whole series in like a week. Of course, I read them all out of order, but every book is a beautifully written, emotionally gripping, and 100% addictive. I just FLOVE them.

I also just re-read The Right Move on audio, and I loved the beautiful love story between Ryan and Indy even more the second time around. Indy is my soulmate heroine- her journey with her fertility, her personality quirks, her determination paired with her softness, it just resonated so much with parts of my own heart and soul. And I will never stop loving how Ryan opens up to her, falls for her, and gah the epic gestures big and small! The audios are great for those who love audio!

Ryan and Indy

After having this series on my "to-be-read" list for far too long, I figured it was time to give it a go. A friend suggested I start with The Right Move, and thank goodness for her because I am completely obsessed with this story. I now own two editions of this series, and I'm not sorry about it.

Ryan Shay is perfection. He set the bar for book boyfriends. I can't believe I am saying this, but I don't think any of my other book boyfriends compares to this man. Ryan is a bit grumpy and doesn't trust easily, but he knows how to love in ways that count. He doesn't shout his love off the rooftops; he loves quietly and deeply. I adored Indy. She is a hopeless romantic and a ball of sunshine. Indy is fun, intelligent, confident, and sassy. She is also extremely loyal and takes care of the people she loves.

I loved Ryan and Indy together. They are easily one of my favorite book couples. I loved how Indy brightened up Ryan's world, literally and figuratively. Ryan and Indy are opposites, but they have similar issues. I loved how they provided comfort and support for each other. Their connection was amazing. The banter and chemistry between Ryan and Indy were top-tier. I loved the push and pull, tension, and communication between them. Ryan is swoon-worthy and does so much to show how much he cares for Indy. There are so many memorable moments: coffee making, bookshelf building, and ASL learning.

The Right Move is hands down one of the best sports romance books I've ever read. I can't believe it took me so long to jump on this train. I refuse to get off and will read everything Liz Tomforde writes. The characters and situations were real and relatable to me. I appreciated the inclusion of infertility and the deaf/hard-of-hearing community. This book should be required reading. This story is beautiful and made me emotional in all the best ways. The Right Move reminds us that sometimes quiet love is truly the loudest.

NARRATION:
Juniper Young and Sean Crisden did a wonderful job with this story. They portrayed the characters well and gave them lots of personality. Juniper and Sean were the perfect voices for Indy and Ryan. The story is amazing, and the audio made it even better. I loved having Ryan Shay in my ears.

Ryan and Indy 🥹

Great story- I was hooked as soon as I started and finished it in two days… wish my husband would let me name my son, Iverson.

great

I enjoyed this. The female narrator was a bit weird at times... trying to hard? The female narrator on the first book left a lot to be desired too.

I finally get the hype

Ryan. Motherfucking. Shay.

I get it now, I really do. I first read mile high on ku but kinda accidentally dnf’d as I found audiobooks and realized I absorbed the info better when listening to it. After almost a year of listening to various stories and scouring booktok and Reddit for suggestions, I came across the hype around the right move when it was released. I liked mile high (as much of it as I read) but I think having that accidental dnf somehow lead me to believe I wasn’t a huge fan of Liz Tomforde’s writing??? Idk whatever happened I was dead fucking wrong. Ryan Shay? The best book boyfriend of the year. Hands down, no competition. And Indy Ivers? I’m not sure I’ve ever enjoyed a fmc as much as I did her! I love how she was a girl’s girl, she was supportive and loving and happy for everyone around her. I relate to her so much but she also sets a beautiful example of who I aspire to be! I will def be using credits on both mile high and the new release caught up. I’m looking forward to getting into both those stories soon!

On another note, I truly enjoyed the narration from both the narrators. I loved the emotion that juniper gave to Indy. I know some people thought it came off as cringey but I’d ten times rather have a bit more emotion show through than not enough. Some narrators have made me completely misunderstand parts of the story with how monotone they sounded. And Sean crisden? New fave for sure!

TLDR; please for the love of god read or listen to this book. Idc how you would prefer to consume it but do yourself a favor and dive into Indy and Ryan’s story.

Romantic and Sexy

The Right Move is the second book in the Windy City series. Ryan Shay is a very famous basketball player and Indy is his sister’s best friend. Ryan is a very thoughtful hero, and both characters had some traumatic experiences with dating experiences in the past. Indy’s ex-boyfriend cheated on her, and she moves in with Ryan with after Stevie arranges it. They fake date for reasons, but they don’t fake it for very long. Ryan and Indy are very romantic and also very dirty. There were small romantic moments and sexy moments. Ryan was a jealous hero and Indy was a strong heroine. I really enjoyed this book!
