Publisher's summary

A talented rookie who's about to lose it all. A reluctant sports therapist who might be able to help.

He has everything a man could want. A lucrative hockey contract. Adoring fans. A family who loves him.

But he’s about to throw it all away. Logan Tate’s name is dominating the headlines for all the wrong reasons. Instead of goals and assists, the talented young defenseman has been racking up fights and suspensions.

I work with athletes who are struggling, but Logan’s different. He’s not just going to blow his season, but his entire career. And now he can’t return to the ice until he deals with his issues, but the stubborn man won’t let anyone get close enough to help.

Which is why I packed up and followed him to his family’s property in the remote mountains of Colorado. He can’t avoid me here.

The only problem?

I can’t avoid him either. He’s chopping wood and building fires, rescuing my car from snowy ditches, and inviting me to Sunday dinners with his loud extended family. He’s a whole lot of man, but beneath all those hard edges is an unexpected tenderness.

Tempted or not, I have to stay out of his bed and get him back to the ice...no matter how difficult that might be.

This is a sizzling new romance in the Looking to Score series. Each book can be listened to as a stand-alone.

Feeling like family

I really enjoyed this 3rd book in the Looking to Score Series. This storyline is based around the rookie Logan Tate and Summer his therapist. After having a great rookie season Logan suffers a loss that leaves him empty, angry, hurt and shattered and in return causes him to have anger issues especially on the ice. Now he finds himself suspended and returns home. The league requires him to have some counseling but he wants to refuse that is until Summer follows him to his family home in Colorado. She is immediately welcomed by Logan’s sweet mother and grandfather who I absolutely loved. They are funny and determined to make sure these two end up together. We are introduced to his brothers as well which all are great characters as well. The longer Summer spends time with the she realizes what it’s like to have a family but Logan is harder to reach. Summer will finally break him down little by little and we see them start a friendship. Summer has suffered loss as well and this seems to connect them even more.
I thought Ms. Ryan did a great job with this storyline and there wasn’t a character that I didn’t like. I know we are in the hockey series but I would really love to see Graham get his story.
I also purchased the audible version of this book and it was great. Jason Clarke and Erin Mallon are two of the best narrators out there and they just bring the feels to life while telling Summer and Logan’s story. Job well done. I recieved an arc copy of this book and am freely leaving my honest review.

Logan and summer

Absolutely fell in love with Summer and Logan.
Summer is sent to help Logan work through his anger. As the team psychologist the problem she is attracted to him .
Logan lost his dad and didn’t deal with the loss before the start of the season and was sent home . Now Summer is at his home to make sure he is fit to play. The problem is he’s super attracted to her. This is a sweet story of two people who have lost loved ones . As Summer helps Logan work through some of his issues he also gets closer and falls for her. She falls for him and his family something she doesn’t have. Great chemistry sexy steamy moments . Plus great fun with his family. Jason Clark and Erin Mallon are amazing . I really hope there is a Tate brothers book.. I am looking forward to Saints story next .

A sweet easy read with a little touch of heat.

Once again Kendall writes a story with characters you can’t help but root for. Logan and Summer have a forbidden love. She follows him to the mountains to help him salvage his career and they end up keeping each other warm. There are feels and funnies and a hilarious scene where his mum gives her some “special” tea!! This was an easy listen with Erin and Jason keeping me company for a few hours. Both seasoned voice actors that can easily give us all the sides and colours of their characters. Logan, an angry hot head that is grumpy AF, and cannot for the life of him resist his attraction to Summer. She’s sweet and trying to get her business off the ground, desperately attempting to keep things professional and totally giving in when Logan pushes her up against the chicken coop! If you’re looking for a chill listen then this is definitely a book to consider.

Jason’s voice is as delicious as a Summer Shandy;)

Jason & Erin are so 🔥 together:) Seriously Erin has one of the best ‘guy’ voices out there;) And Jason is just…

Ahhh! Summer is the perfect person to help sweet broken Logan. Their connection is instant from the moment they meet. The Tates don’t mind making sure their connection stays intact. They are so welcoming & are exactly what Summer didn’t know she needed in her life.

I know Saint is next but I need more Tates too…🙏🏻

Love this series!

This is the third book in the Looking to Score series and it is a great addition. The Rookie is the story of Logan and Summer and their fast and forbidden road to HEA. Logan is struggling after the sudden death of his father and Summer is the sports psychologist assigned to help him turn things around. It turns out that falling in love might just be the best therapy he could possibly get. Jason Clarke and Erin Mallon are a powerhouse couple of narration and bring all the vulnerability and passion that these two characters deserve. Anxiously awaiting the Rebound coming next.

Surprised by all the good reviews

This book was so far fetched. The premise alone was kind of ridiculous and there were so many parts of the story that were just not thought and didn’t make sense. Definitely won’t be reading any more of these.

Not close to the rest of series so far.

Characters are poorly developed. Shallow storyline. Wish I would not have wasted a credit. All of her books are average at best but my teenager could have written this.
