Story
In The Worst of You, just-wed architects Timo and Nia flee a murder scene, setting in motion a chain reaction of lies and betrayals that threaten to unravel everything they have built together. Twisted and propulsive, this thriller is told from the alternating perspectives of the couple and those close to them on Williwaw Island, each with their own motive to use the outcome of the murder case to their advantage. When a huge storm sweeps up the coast, trapping everyone on tiny Williwaw Island, it’s a race against time—and the elements — to stop the murderer from striking again.

Story
Dr. Jake McBride loves two things in life. His people and chicken cheesy-crust pies. Returning from Iraq, he's done with medicine and strangers...in fact, life. He knows all about trauma and plans on dealing with his, his own way. His needs are simple: solitude and working on his new career as the town recluse. The only problem with that - well, two actually - are the interfering towns folk of Lake Howling and Branna O'Donnell.

Fresh Start
It was a good story line. I suppose that in some small towns the police might be inclined to help an ex-convict. I loved that he was still a likeable guy even after spending years in jail wrongfully convicted. He still likes the town he left. I felt like the story could gave included several interactions between the Sam and the actual murderer. I loved that it was clean reading with a good sprinkle of Christianity.
