Resumen del Editor

The Servant Leader is one of a series of books in my “Biblical Leadership Essentials Series” that is designed to facilitate “transformational learning” for establishing a foundation in “spirit and truth” (John 4:24) that will stand the test of time and help you meet the challenges of learning how to be “lovers in a dangerous time.” (Musician Bruce Cockburn)

Robert Greenleaf, On Becoming a Servant Leader, is known as the founder of the Servant Leadership School of Leadership theory and practice. He states that, “The servant-leader is servant first, it begins with a natural feeling that one wants to serve, to serve first, as opposed to, wanting power, influence, fame, or wealth.” Greenleaf got much of his inspiration and insights into servant leadership from his understanding of Jesus Christ in the Bible as the primary model of what a servant leader looked like and how servant leaders can relate to others. Jesus said of himself, “The Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many,” (Matthew 20:28)

This book is an introduction to the nature of the biblical model and dynamics of Jesus as a servant leader who came to earth not to be served, but to serve, and give his life for others. This book is designed to be a stand-alone volume, but for those of you who want to go “deeper” in your understanding of Jesus as a model and source of true servant leadership, I have developed a discovery learning workbook titled The Servant Leadership Workbook that you can purchase on Amazon.com.
