Publisher's summary

A killer stalks the city of San Diego, brutally slaying women on the fringes of society. The body of a young woman torn apart in her bedroom makes even the hardened detectives of the San Diego Police Department's Homicide Unit tremble with disgust and rage.

For SDPD homicide detective Jon Stanton, the young woman is more than just another case. His former partner, Eli Sherman, was the original detective assigned to the case - before he was discovered to be one of San Diego's most ruthless serial killers.

Unable to see Eli Sherman for what he was, Stanton blames himself for the murders he committed while on the force, swearing to never wear the badge again. But with a depraved killer eluding the best SDPD has to offer, he must once again fight to uncover a killer that leaves no evidence behind - and that has turned his attention to new prey....

Terrific story…

Terrific story, fantastic narrator - storyteller not just a narrator. So appreciate the performance. No book is worth it Salt until its story is properly told

Suspenseful and well-written thriller

Me this never ceases to amaze me with his intelligent, suspenseful writing. You never expect the next plot-twist, however it’s never arbitrary like other writers. Can’t wait to continue this series!

What a great story, pace, characters and narration. Methos is my new favorite author, wish there were more than 2 audio books of this series. Bravo!

Another good book of Victor Methos!

it was not my first book of this writer that I listened. Got my attention from the very beginning. I haven't even realized when I reached the last chapter. Easy and interesting, I listened to it at work while entering data in the computer. Made my day go faster )

best!!!

fabulous "new to me" author!!! you won't be sorry this one doesn't have a ton of cussing there's a lot of action the narrator is a little deadpan he reminds me of Dan Aykroyd's voice in police squad but other than that great story

POSITIVE /REFRESHING

I like and respect that the protagonist seeks to practice his own religious beliefs. The concept of peacefulness and spiritual belief are unusual in current non secular writing.

Jumbled

I love Neon Lawyer and other books by this author. BUT this book was confusing... I kept thinking. "Wait! Who is THIS guy and is he bad or good?"
Victor Methos is definitely a writer worth reading but this I will have to listen to a few times before I make up my mind on getting book two.
Reading is such a relative thing - - read or listen an excerpt.... you may love it.
