Critic reviews

  • Audie Award Winner, Inspirational/Spiritual, 2004

"Reminds readers that before we learned everything we needed to know in kindergarten, or had our first taste of chicken soup for the soul, Rogers taught valuable lessons about playing make-believe, keeping one's promises, finding strength through helping others, and not being afraid to cry." (Publishers Weekly)

Great beginning and middle. Skip the end.

I loved the book until the last few chapters, which were repetitive, repetitious, and redundant. 😂

Touching and thought provoking.

I never appreciated Mr. Rogers until I was in my early twenties and started working with children in the DV field. I used to carry around a copy of this book in my bag. The audio version is lovely. I hope more people pick a copy up.

Awesome snippets, not good as audiobook. Get book!

When purchasing this audiobook I did not realize that it was going to be just a lot of small chapters which is not good for listening in one long sitting. I will give it back and get the book instead.

Life as perceived by Mr. Rogers

I loved this book. It is well written, and could be read or listened to multiple times. There is a light that shines when Mr. Rogers speaks in this book. It was wonderful to hear Mrs. Rogers voice in the preface. We need his words and advice now more than ever.
