Resumen del Editor

Whispers of the Walker: After breaking the code of secrecy and facing the judgement of the High Council, Jess and Hannah have no choice but to become Trackers, working to take down those who would exploit the spirit world for profit or power. Their first assignment takes them into the deep South, where Jeremiah Campbell, a self-proclaimed spiritual guru, lures wealthy and desperate devotees with promises of a deeper connection with the dead. As the girls go undercover, it soon becomes clear that they, and the spirit world they are sworn to protect, are once again in unimaginable danger.

Plague of the Shattered: Something dangerous is stalking the halls of Fairhaven. It lies in wait, striking down victim after victim, undetectable and inescapable. No one knows what it is, or what it wants, but one thing is clear: no one is safe until it is captured.

Awakening of the Seer: She can already see the dead...but is she starting to see the future? Spurred by the injustices that nearly destroyed their family, Jess and Hannah Ballard are preparing to win back a seat on the powerful Durupinen Council. As Hannah faces the harsh realities of political intrigue, Jess must face a frightening new reality of her own. Will Jess be forced to stand helplessly by, or will she interpret the signs before it's too late?

3 novels in one, you will love it

I started this series wondering why I left it sitting in my not started category so long, before I knew it, it was 2 wks later and I had finished all 10 novels, I literally had the next one que'd to start before I was completely finished. As a truck driver, the length of each was absolutely wonderful to enjoy each drive shift.
The narration was spot on, the narrator did their homework and really hit all of the emotions and que's of each character, Absolutely amazing work. I now have another author and more narrator's I will follow.
The author is absolutely remarkable, what a wonderful storyline and what a creative imagination. I have already told all of my friends about this series and will look for more work from this team of professionals.
This whole series keeps you captivated and craving more. You will definitely not be disappointed. I absolutely recommend the audio version as well as hold in your hands read.

Wonderful trilogy

I read one of Ms. Holmes series a while ago, but I did not really remember much of it. So it was a delight falling back into this world again and getting to know Jess and Hannah Ballard.

This series has a very unique magic system with a fairly complex world built up around it. It didn't take me long to understand both the world and the magic system - but I will say the Council part of it was a little confusing to me at first. Do you need to have read the previous series to read this one? No, I don't think so. Like I mentioned before, I read it a very long time - and many books- ago so I honestly felt like this was a brand new series to me and that was completely okay.

These two girls have been born into a world where the two of them - twins separated at birth- together form a gateway that can help souls move on to whatever is next. There is a whole back story about the two of them and how they found each other and the things that happened to them, but this series starts after all of that.

The girls are trying to lead a normal life and have settled in Salem, Massachusetts. Unfortunately, that settled life is not in the cards. Things happen and the girls find themselves (and their guardian) being called back to the High Council in Europe to answer for their actions.

I really enjoyed this book and am excited to keep going to book 2 because things are happening quickly.

Book 2 / 4.25 Stars

The series continues as Jess and Hannah are required to go back (again) to the seat of the Council because every five years, the Northern Clans of the Durupinen gather at Fairhaven Hall and the girls are required to attend to represent their clan.

While there, it is apparent that their actions of the past - not to mention their extremely strong and powerful abilities - have made them outcasts. The other members are either terrified of them, or have been made to distrust them based on the crazy politicking that has been going on for centuries.

Unfortunately, that takes a bit of a back seat as something crazy is happening in Fairhaven. A spirit seems to have penetrated the tightly warded compound and "shattered" which in turn means that there are tons of individual "pieces" of the shattered person who are entering and taking over certain Durupinen, leaving them almost comatose and crazed in sickbeds. The girls are the only ones who are making progress in trying to discover "what" has happened and "how" to save the ladies who have been taken over.

This story takes us back in forth in a timeline along with many different POV's. Hopefully, the girls involvement will help mitigate some of the massive dislike that is coming from the group of women representing the clans. But, no spoilers. It's time for book 3......

Book 3 / 4.5 Stars 🌟

Book 3 in this series takes on a bit of a twist. The main focus is on Jess and the fact that her skills as a muse seem to be developing into something more. Are her pictures telling her things BEFORE they happen? That is what she decides she needs to understand.

Not to mention, there is a WHOLE lot of political wrangling going on as they are still sequestered at Fairhaven Hall in order to vote to fill the vacant clan seat. Everything gets thrown for a loop when the girls clan is nominated, and Hannah surprising accepts.

We get a lot of backstory and history in this book. More information about the things that happened during their mothers time at Fairhaven. It is also starting to draw clear lines which clans are willing to give them their support.

This book was a little different from the first 2, but I still enjoyed it and am looking forward to seeing what is next instore for this really close group of friends and family.

Good story let down by awful accents from narrator

Overall, the stories are good, if a little contrived. However, the narrator's repeated attempts at Scottish/Irish/London accents (it often isn't easy to tell which one she's attempting!) are just awful to the extent that the stories are spoilt as it is just so jarring....

Not feeling it

If you liked 'A Discovery of Witches' you will like this one. This is better. But I cannot get into either one.
