Tyler Merritt tells his story with tears and hope and laughter and inspiration. I loved the settle comedy, the unapologetic black history and references to 90’s music, tv and movies . After all he has been through, he is still living, loved, respected. I want to be his friend (hit me up Tyler 🥰🤣). I will follow whatever he does next.

No words! It's that good!

Tyler is such an amazing story teller. I laughed, and I cried. (Snot coming out my face crying!) This is no ordinary tale of a man's journey. Sure, he tells you his story, but he also tells other people's stories. And the stories he tells are so, so important. They're stories we can't forget. We need to keep telling them so that we move our society toward a better place and a better way of being. He's says we'd all be better if we met his mom. I think he's probably right. But I also think she gifted the world one special human when she brought us her son, Tyler Merritt.

A joyful celebration of life - the good and the bad parts (Yes, you should give it your full attention as soon as!)

Tyler’s unabashed approach to a taboo topic (or two) manages to be entertaining, thought provoking, real and full of passages that will have you reaching for your tissues. You may be laughing so hard you need to catch your breath or find yourself needing to wipe a tear at times. Between the snorts of laughter and the lamentations, there is a joyous romp through life and faith. With a soundtrack by Whitney, Aretha, Prince and others (or at least that’s what I’m hearing when I think of this book. IYKYK, I know budget.)
