Well written characters

characters in the books come to life. I believe some people could look at the main character as sexist egocentric cowboy in a world better suited 100 years ago. That fact only makes this sometimes a laugh out loud experience. With his rough edges, women seem to be drawn to him like 007. In fact, this character reminds me a lot of James bond in the Roger Moore era. he is an old soul in young body.

Great Purchase!! Loved all but one of the books.

If you're looking to be entertained this series is for you! I really enjoyed the stories with the plot twists and absolutely loved the narration!
Some folks have left bad reviews due to the amount of swearing (normal conversational swearing) and all the lady friends Thomas somehow ends up with (not really that many).

Three of the four books made me LOL a lot! The Afrakans was a bit too tedious for me. I listened to most of it but just didn't keep my interest so I skipped to the next book-glad I did! I wasn't disappointed!

Nick Perog & Johnny Heller make a great team! Looking forward to finding more books with their combination!

Hilarious and Exciting

Listened to all four books in a weekend. Had me in stitches the whole time. Thomas is a idiot and brilliant hero with an attitude and mouth that gets him into constant trouble and pain. Far fetched at times, but all and all a delicious read!

So glad I found this on Audible!

i always do this thing where I'm listening to the book and wonder what I'd have read it like in my own head. and let me tell you, I would not have done this justice. I am SO glad I listened to this series, the narrator makes it absolute gold. I initially just picked this cause I wanted a super long book so I didn't have to pick another one for awhile, but now I am hooked on this series 100%. Very well done!

He’s Gen X - Keep reading/listening - great mysteries and great character development

Enjoyable. The mysteries are well written and I enjoyed not knowing the fullness of the who and why until I heard it from the narrator. I have worked with former law enforcement in my age group who would have been Thomas, except they retired after full careers. Stay with the series and watch Thomas grow. He doesn’t mince his words, but he isn’t misogynistic. He speaks in the voice of the time that the book is written. If you can only be happy with a Millennial, Gen Y or Gen Z voice, this may not be the series for you.

Great series

I was surprised how much I liked the series. Thomas is a fun character and his sarcasm made me laugh several times. This book is easy to listen to especially after a difficult day and tired brain, the narrator did a good job in all 4 books. I will definitely listen to more of this author and have purchased the latest book.

Great!

I loved this series! It made me sad at times but I laughed alot! At first I didn't care for the narrator's voice, but I learned to love it! His timing was great! The story line and his delivery made this series fantastic.

Murder and Humor

I enjoyed this book set very much! Funny, plot twists- they never end like I expect. The pieces are there. The characters are believable and I’d love to have Thomas as a neighbor or friend. I loved the story of Harold.
