Critic reviews

"This is a rare opportunity for readers to get to know a favorite author as Nicholas reveals the inspirations for his fiction. A must-read for Sparks fans as well as a treat for those who want to find out what makes a family strong." (Booklist)
"Refreshingly honest and perceptive....Weaving in vignettes of tenderness and loss with travelogue-like observations, Sparks's account shows how he and his brother both evolved on this voyage." (Publishers Weekly)

Three Weeks with My Brother

I really enjoyed this book as it gave an insight into the author, Nicholas Sparks, that I did not know previously. It sheds light on why he wrote some of his fictional books that I have read. I had to pay close attention to the storyline to realize when he was shifting from his current adventures and reflecting on his past life with his family of origin.

Excellent

I haven't read a lot of Nicholas Sparks' books, but this sounded interesting. I couldn't put it down. It makes you feel very connected with the author. He talks about his family and personal tragedies with openness, warmth and humor. After reading this, I am going to go back and read some of his other stories as he explained what his inspiration was. It was a wonderful read and I would highly recommend.

Three weeks with my brother...

Wow This story touched me deeply and I only wish that I had the same connection with my own family but it seem as though we all drifted apart after my own brothers death. I also find myself always trying to make every one like me and strive to keep my own family together and close. Made me feel as though I was reading my own life in someone else’s eyes . Absolutely loved it .

Must read or listen

Nicholas Sparks makes you feel like part of his family. I couldn’t put it down . The intimate look into his family is awe inspiring.
I saw my own simple childhood in some of his memories. I can’t imagine the magnitude of thoughts and memories as he relived his life and tragedies. His faith is an inspiration

Absolutely Moving a Masterpiece

I didn't think I would like it. while I have read most of the Spark a books and loved them all. I think the title kept me from getting excited about this one. I finally started reading it. could not put it down. it is my favorite.
